United actually did quite well this year because MUFC squad is 4th most valuable in England. Lille did really well in France; their squad is valued at a third of PSG.

Almost forgot. These are TransferMarkt valuations. In general, top players sell for more than their nominal TransferMarkt valuation, except when they're already at a big club on massive wages. United can hardly ever manage to sell a player at a descent price. At least these valuations give a good idea of what relative values are.

I'm surprised how close the spanish top three are in terms of their valuation. Would not have thought a few years ago that the squad values of Real and Barca deteriorate so far that Atletico is on par with them.

according to your data Liverpool and Chelsea have more players in their squad which may also include players on loan. If you have a larger squad we would expect it to cost more. Is there a version that looks at value of squad which includes players who player more than 10 games for example?
