I was Ole out but the way fans have spoken about him is an embarrassment.
I could understand when it was in the frustration of not knowing when it was going to end but he is gone now, it's done. He has been the embodiment of a model servant to this club, he is fully aware of the opportunity he had been given being brought in from a relatively small league by Sir Alex and he never showed any signs of losing that gratitude.
He took the job with no notice and tried his absolute best. If he is not good enough despite his full effort then keeping him in the job is the fault of the board, not him. Some might say he should have resigned, he finished second last year which is not the achievement it has been highlighted as but I can see why a man with self-belief would think they could progress from 2nd to 1st. Once it got really bad this season he probably hoped he could turn it around, self-belief (maybe to the point of delusion) is his biggest sin?
These same people insulting him would be saying "Ole made a mess of things then just quit and left others to clean it up" if he had resigned. He tried his best, it wasn't good enough. Hope he goes home and spends time with his family, this looks to have aged him about 10 years.
