Watching that Egypt game I start to wonder what is the biggest contrast between a great player and a shite team, at club level and in national teams. I'm watching one of the best players in the world right now playing in a national team that's about as good as a local amateur side.

What are the most striking examples?

What a weirdly worded question.

Based on the title alone, and not the clarification in the OP: Fellaini (Manchester United) let's go!

Any team with Cristiano in it, beats Saudi Arabia.

This is why Salah is no way near Ronaldo.

Although, when everyone's shit, is anyone shit? Or did i mean great? I'm getting confused

Point is, argentina applies to like 1/3 of their current players

Never even heard of Madjer, but wouldn't you think that Keane's Ireland and Shevchenko's Ukraine had slightly more going for them than the other teams? Even Wales with Bale were a lot better than Wales with Giggsy.

You bet. Someone once said I was "reasonably intelligent." No word of a lie.
That begs the question, how intelligent was that person? It's hard for me to gauge due to my own level of intelligence..

Yugoslavia always had terrific footballers come out of there. You can see even now that it split up into so many countries and they all have very good groups of footballers, often only ruined because of the managers.

Roy Keane played alongside the likes Damien Duff, Robbie Keane, Denis Irwin, Steve Staunton, Shay Given, Paul McGrath, Steve Finnen. Hardly lightweights at international level. Maybe if he was in the Irish team now you could say it.

But from them, who is considered world class like Keane? And also these players cover 20 years.

Eriksen and Denmark, although Denmark is not a bad team.

4 years ago I’d say Ibrahimovic for Sweden.

Hleb-Belarus, Lewandowki-Poland, Arshavin-Russia, Shevshenko-Ukraine and I assume Simonsen-Danemark.

Piksi would have gone down as one of the greatest midfielders of all time if he could sneeze without blowing his ACL
