So amongst all this talk of 4-3-3s, we seem to have changed from a fairly traditional 4-2-3-1 to a more hybrid diamond in attack. In offence our shape in the Spurs game:

I know people have been complaining about Matic's position all game, but he was designed to be a pure DM in this system. Pogba should've been dropping next to Fred a lot more to provide help in build up with Bruno staying forward (which did happen, but not enough). Fred was left isolated in midfield

Another way of implementing this formation would be to have Lindelof in Matic's position (so a switch to five at the back) which would make it fairly similar to what Chelsea currently play.

Thoughts?

We can't leave Matic to fend for himself, he's like a turlte wading through treacle. Improve on him and it might be OK, but AWB will also need to improve going forward as there's a burden on the WBs here.

TBH I prefer more width and we certainly have forwards who can stretch play from wide areas.
