This is not a serious thread, it's in good fun and an exercise in imagination.

The new format of the Champions League, greatly favors the big clubs, the big 12 as we now know them. Not only are there more games to play making it harder for big clubs to be eliminated but, it has elements of the "super league" in that a big club like United, Milan, etc can now finish from 5th to 7th and still get an invite to the CL. If say, Leicester finishes 5th and Liverpool 6th, it is almost a guarantee Liverpool will be playing Champions League football next year while Leicester Europa league.

Now when you have such an unfair format, how do you go about presenting it to the World and have it accepted, or even rejoiced? You introduce the mother of greed and unfairness. I give you, the Super League!

The footballing World was caught by surprise Sunday night by the an unexpected announcement of the worst type of greed imaginable. This, was just days before the new Champions League format was to be officially announced itself. It got people so fired up, so emotional, that they now begin to see the new CL format as a good thing.

The Glazer family is almost universally hated by United fans. Massive protests were organized in the past. Did this ever matter? No. So why would these people along with the other less then honorable owners of the "big 12" give up due to mere protests (most of them online) and do so in a matter of hours? For two reasons:

1) they never intended for the ESL to be a real thing but a distraction for what was actually going to happen, the new CL format.
2) and this is where the master manipulation comes in, not only will people eat the new CL format, but they will do so happily. The rich have just gotten more advantages and we, the fans, actually feel good and powerful and like we "protected" football.
