The I cant believe we haven't been linked with X player thread

I might be on my own here, but to me it's looked like Moutinho is the real quality of that Wolves midfield.

In my eyes, Neves is a bits-and-pieces kind of a player who happens to fire an ICBM out of his boots once every 10 games.

Portuguese Thomas Hitzlsperger.

For me I can't believe we've not been linked with Brozovic.

Especially with Conte keen on Lukaku, Inter not having the funds, no solid interest in Icardi, rumours of Brozovic together with Wanda & our never ending search for a midfield general...

For me it would have to be Federico Chiesa and Sandro Tonali. Both some of the greatest Italian talents around and Chiesa would be great for our RW while Tonali would be a great distributor as DM or CM.

I like him too. He was the unsung hero for Croatia in the world cup allowing Rakitic and Modric to play more advanced. He would be great replacement for Matic.

all joking aside and I've been saying this for a while, bring Scholesy back out of retirement. His passing is still top notch and at 44 we could easily get 6 more seasons if we play him with a more mobile mid partner.
If we use him sparingly he'd be a useful option. Only use him for home games

Sander Berge - Genk
florian grillitsch - Hoffenheim
Stanislav lobotka - Celta Vigo
IbrahimSangare - Toulouse

All transfers that could have been done, whilst we were faffing around trying to sign Longstaff.

Yes, and Varane
I'd like them to offer Varane as well but I recently read if he goes they want his full €500 release clause. This suggests they don't want him to go but may be willing to offer him depending how much they want Pogba. I would take both for Pogba as straight swap if it was available.

Neves is nowhere near as good as some people on this forum think.

I thought he was ok last season but honestly was more impressed by Moutinho. Neves is a proper hollywood ball/smash it in from 40 yards on his 100th attempt artist though, so..

I mentioned Josh King as a potential Lukaku replacement and am surprised it hasn't been rumoured. PL proven, energetic and pacey, came through United academy and is Norweigan for the Solskjaer link.

I'm also surprised whether it would have legs or not that journalists haven't tried to push the idea of a Zaha back to United (can get him cheaper than anyone else with the 25% clause) with Greenwood going to Palace on loan to develop with guaranteed regular minutes.

This actually makes kinda sense.
I would approve if this happened.

Once Lukaku goes we need a replacement and knowing Ed he will probably try and sign Welbeck on a free.

"Sometimes we were discussing with Manchester United and Alex Ferguson's brother to try and join me there," Xavi told BBC World Service.

"But I decided to stay in Barcelona because it's my club.

"I was thinking always in Barcelona, its my favourite team, I feel Barcelona in my heart, it's the best club in the world."

I think we ask Real to include Casemiro in the Pogba deal, if they want so bad and are struggling that hard to come up with the cash.

He'd be a good fit as the 6 here (competing with or more likely starting for a couple years ahead of Mctominay) if we stay with this formation we've played preseason where the 2 deep mids have to cover a ton of space behind the front 4, though at 27 his legs will probably go in a couple seasons and then you're left with a decent but not great technical player. He's the kind of signing you want at 25 more than 27 I think.

Oyarzabal rumored to be City's replacement for Sane, they'd pay the 75M clause.

His clause was at 60M last summer as a 21 year old coming off a 14 goal season in 2017-18, he's technically very good and as a left-footer who seems to have to play at left wing often for Sociedad (like Griezmann did) and didn't take any penalties until this year, his goalscoring stats might even underrate his threat in that regard. He doesn't leap off the screen athletically when you watch him, but he's smart and for 60M, considering how badly we needed a RW last year and still do this year, he would really have been a nice signing. Could easily see him as our #10 in Ole's new system too, if Greenwood or Rashford ends up at RW.

The amount of good young RW we didn't go for the last few years is bizarre and long, but after Ziyech (another who would fit this new system as our #10/2nd striker well) and Mahrez (expensive but Prem proven and we could have probably bought him 2 years back and had very good production at RW the last 2 years instead of a hodgepodge of mediocrity) he'd be amongst the highest floor options I think.

Thomas Partey apparently with a €50M release clause. Seems a perfect fit for Fernandinho role here and could unleash Pogba...

Martial<->Rashford<->Dybala
Pogba Fred
Partey
Shaw Maguire Lindelof Wan-Bissaka
DDG

Exactly how I saw it too!
Perhaps if we didn't already have Fred we could have been after him.

Definitely Ndidi. He's got stats like Kante did in that Leicester side now, it's as if they've literally 'found another'. Should be snapping him up if Pogba is long-term United, or if we really want Bruno. I think Ndidi is one of the few who could play with Bruno and Pogba in a three.
