After saying he would take the blame for it, he's now saying that the Dems are to blame for the government shut down while his own party controls the House and didn't support his demand for $5billion to be used from a budget that is being pumped into a floundering economy that's wracked up even more debt in recent months. Yeah it’s not just “the libs” getting pissed off with him anymore. The GOP are finding him more and more troublesome and finding less and less reason to enable him, his base are getting fatigued with his bullshit and ironically, growing more and more tired of not winning and with the stock market tanking he’s not really got anything he can point to as an achievement.
It’s why he’s sitting firm over the wall, he needs a tangible victory to take to his base and campaign on. Democrats know that and that’s why, logistics and finances aside, they have no intention of giving it to him. Standing firm and being accused of owning the government shutdown is far less damaging politically than being weak and caving in to his demands and giving him his fecking wall.
