So Trump have officially withdrawn the U.S. from WHO. Interesting times we live in.

Was at Walmart in South Tampa on Sunday and saw an old white male holding himself up with a walking cane as I entered. Figure he was waiting on the wife/someone to park the car or pick him up, no clue. Fecker had a Trump 2020 facemask. For a split second I thought of engaging him in a, "Why do you support this clown? Do you consider yourself a religious person?" etc. But it would have been pointless and really not worth my effort and time to engage with an obvious cult member. Plus, I'd look a right clown arguing with a dude that's one fall or raised heart rate from death. But guarantee this older man gets enraged watching Fox News.

Should've asked whether he saw the irony in the mask.

While I don't think embracing the racist role will help on the whole - don't for one second think that it's not playing into the repressed minds of many.

I always like to remind people of the Borat movie. I know many many people who claim high and low they are not racist but ultimately, deep down inside many - if not most of us - are to varying degrees. A much larger amount of those than we d like to think are genuinely quite staunch in those beliefs too. The "I'm not racist but what's wrong with some blackface? Crowd" basically. And it's not just "white" people either. There are plenty of very conservative folks of Asians and South American background who agree wholeheartedly with the some of the racist undertones. It's imho no surprise those are the two minorities represented on the Trump train as well. Albeit sparsely perhaps, but still more than you would assume.People always have the need to feel superior over one another. Many were raised to think it's normal.

All it takes is for a person in a position of power to drop the facade and say what should not be said. No it won't turn most into full blown neo nazis or other fringe elements, but they will nod along - and that is often enough to do the damage.
Excellent and thoughtful post

Yeah I agree. I believe there are those of us who are racist and actively embrace it, those of us who are racist and try do do something about it and those of us who are racist and are in denial. We can''t help but have subconscious biases, we've had them hammered into us since birth.

Like, for example, if I said 'which race generally work harder'.....I bet you just subconsciously answered that question in your head before you caught yourself....and I bet you chose your own race!

I mean... no?

I think your broader point is correct, that society has ingrained us with prejudices of some sort or another.

My brain can't get pregnant!
This is how far we have fallen and become numb to the moron in charge of the USA.

Today alone

He's been accused of cheating exams and paying others to take them for him.

Made racist comments and claims about a virus and the country it originated in.

Using veterans as guinea pigs for drugs he claims help treat Covid-19

Claims the USA has the best mortality rate in the world for Covid-19 and the Fake News won't report on this.

Claims the USA invented the telephone, the internet, single handedly won the two World Wars.

Oh, and the small matter of withdrawing the USA from the WHO in the middle of a global pandemic and just as the USA approaches 3 MILLION CASES and has the highest amount of deaths on the planet.

That's in one day. He's had nearly 4 years pulling shit like this.

But

Obama wore a tan suit once.

What a fecking joke.

Of course Trump being Trump he can’t just pull them out at will, all he’s done is start a one year timer to withdrawal, which Biden will obviously cancel next year. In classic Trump fashion it’s just empty talk.

I wish it was always just empty talk, but Trump has done some lasting damage on climate change and foreign policy.

The Lincoln Project is one of the best things to come out of all of this. Hopefully if Trump loses we ll find out who all the Republicans are that are backing it, especially if it made a difference in uprooting the weed currently occupying the golf course.

check the like/dislike and comments below this, and compare to a video of a typically divisive trump action anytime before this year. big change in the youtube comments under non-specialised channels, which is more indicative of the public mood than any other social media.

With that whole thing about re opening schools - Trump only cares about three things:
-The idea that parents not being able to fully contribute to the economy if they have kids at home. That is an argument that has some merit of course but it should never be at the expense of the public health. Still - he needs those numbers pumped up fast, and I'm sure he thinks that getting rid of those pesky kids will help.
-He... Or especially DeVos WANT it to be a disaster for the public schools in particular. Don't forget their anti education/pro for profit schools stance.
-When shit inevitably hits the fan they can then point to the "failing public school systems" and "failing leadership" of the states he decides to hate on.

If DeVos and Co. weren't involved I wouldn't necessarily jump beyond the first item, but to think there is not something more nefarious seems optimistic in this case.

Having said that - I would like to know what the plan is for my kids this fall. Whatever it ends up being.

Edit: relevant-- https://www.freep.com/story/news/ed...ovid-relief-money-private-schools/5392085002/
Tip- don't read the comments. It's toxic though it goes along with the idea of wanting to kill "liberal" public schools.

You're twisting it to make it look worse for Trump. Obama also saluted once while holding a coffee cup, and tried to put dijon mustard on something. I think he also didn't wear a flag pin once. Huge scandals, easily as bad as Trump.

This motherfecker is gonna get me killed.
I hope someone pointed out that he has a two week delay when putting out these fires. Like playing CoD with a high ping, you're just going to keep walking forward two paces and then finding out that someone shot you in the head five seconds ago. No nuke for you this game. You can't even get a good enough streak to earn the Radar.

Haven't played CoD in a while, clearly. I'm working with out of date information. Just like this fake tanned obese twat.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVossaid Tuesday that she is “very seriously” considering withholding federal funding from schools that don’t reopen in the fall.

"We are looking at this very seriously. This is a very serious issue across the country," DeVos told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

DeVos recently told state leaders on a conference call that plans to allow in-person activities only a few days a week were unacceptable, arguing that another semester of remote learning would hurt students.

I doubt I’ll see her standing in a classroom with me.

I am "shocked" that political leaders who have no experience in fields (DeVoss, President Bone Spurs, etc.) have no problem putting people in those fields in danger and then telling them the danger is "part of their job".
