Predictions for Raw tonight?

I am very much assuming that The Rock will be gone again for a while, and probably Reigns too
I did think for a second they might make Rock Cody’s first match as champion.

Maybe Solo becomes number one contender?

Yeah I don't think Rock or Reigns are appearaing.

Should be a big segment with Drew, Rollins, Punk and Priest which will be fun.

Rollins turning on Cody later in the show maybe? Wouldn' tbe surprised to see Brock show up too. Also think they'll do something big with Bron Breakker or Dijak

John Cena gave him the AA and Seth distracted him by displaying his back for a juicy hit.
Sorry was shattered and it was nearly 6am when I wrote that. Yeah Cena did give him the AA but Cody was down and out when Seth came on when Cody was down and out. Roman Superman punched him and then as Rock was going to give Cody a beating with his Mama Rhodes belt Taker came out. So, yeah it wasn't quite as clean as I put due to the AA, but still, after the beating Cody took from Solo and Jimmy it was almost a clean win.

As for Takers appearance, to add to my post straight after Mania ended, I remembered a couple of interviews with HHH. One was the DX one with Shawn Michaels where they were discussing the HHH/Taker match at Mania where Shawn was the Special Guest referee and Trips said Taker was like his brother and he said the three were closer than anyone else in WWE.

I strongly suggest everyone watch the two press conferences from each night because night one Rock and Trips both explain things beautifully. Night 2 Trips lays everything out there, past, present and future. He also indirectly explains all the title changes going to wrestlers who deserved it for enduring so much shit or being overlooked during the Vince era. I get the feeling he's going to be trying to right a lot of wrongs over the coming months.

I'm honestly still buzzing from two nights of amazing entertainment and more excited for the future of the WWE than I have been in years.

Can't see this happening with the footage of Seth praising Cody and Drew yesterday. Also he seems injured as well. Not sure we'll see Brock given the allegations against him.

He also mentioned there will be a new storyline for Roman so will be interesting to see what that is.

If both Roman and Rocky are going off doing Hollywood things, where does that leave the Bloodline exactly? Solo and Jimmy just gonna team up? Also what about Paul E.?

I was waiting for the glass shatter but at one point it was so obvious that the glass would break as it was building towards it that it wouldn't have been a huge surprise.

The gong was a nice surprise. The only gripe is that a tombstone would've been more epic.

Brock has been cleared and was even featured on some of the Mania advertising boards. It's strongly rumoured he's returning soon.

HHH said in the press conference after Mania that he has a new and exciting direction for Roman to take although Roman still has Leukemia and needs time between matches hence his sporadic showings over the last year or so.

Rock will be involved as he said a few weeks ago he's going to try to fit as much in-between his other projects as possible. And Seth is injured so will need time to recover as well.

I think a 60 year old Undertaker lifting and executing a tombstone on a near 300 pound 50 year old Dwayne Johnson is something we can all live withou!

Tombstone is a surprisingly easy move to pull off. It's not a real pile driver anyways as the opponent stays hugged and well above the canvas at the time of impact.

Bury Seth? He was the reason Roman lost. Roman chose to attack him when he could have hit Cody. That was the whole point. Seth said he'd be Cody's "shield". A shield is something that takes the blow, it doesn't need offence.

I thought it played out beautifully. Despite everything, Roman couldn't get over the Shield breakup and Seth's betrayal and chose to take revenge ( Seth was in the exact same position as when he hit Roman 10 years ago) rather than finish off Cody. Seth knew all along what he was doing. Both Seth and Roman couldn't let go off the past and it cost both of them their titles. That was the whole point of coming in the Shield attire and music.

The tribal chief character was born from Roman's paranoia of not getting betrayed by family again, and so it was great storytelling to have the same person be responsible for the end of the Tribal Chief.
Fair enough if they go down that route then it makes sense, but I still would have liked Seth to get a blow or two in.

That might be HHH's downfall though. Vince was a monster but he knew the business. How many people would have stuck with Roman when he was a terrible baby face with s**** promos. Arguably sticking with Roman got the Netflix deal done as Roman has carried the company since COVID and put over the next generation of superstars.
Giving the people exactly what they want isn't the best strategy long term. However can't fault anything that was done this mania. Amazing all around. Drew's angle now is that he had both his Mania moments ruined.

Now Gunther is not holding down the IC belt we could see him move up to the main event and be Cody's 1st challenger?
God no, Gunther needs to take the belt off Cody at some point down the road, not be his first.

I think Gunther might win MITB actually.

Got to say what a breath of fresh air HHH has been since he took charge. Made WWE enjoyably watchable again after a decade long of boredom that we suffered from Vince.

Brilliant start and end to night 2. Starting off with that Drew vs Rollins match resulting in Priest cashing in his MITB. Brilliant match and a very good ending.

Main event picked up big time when Jimmy interfered and then we had everyone else getting involved. I said from the start I wasn’t really fussed with the end result, moreso the execution of what they have lined up for it. I was expecting to hear the glass to shatter rather than hear a dong. Plus like many, once I heard the Shield music playing, I thought we were gonna get Dean Ambrose which would have been the biggest shock and excitement factor of the night. But still nevertheless they pulled it off really well. Even Samantha Irvin was struggling to announce Cody as the new champion due to the emotion. Brillaint and emotional moment for Cody celebrating that triumph knowing he’s fulfilled his father’s dream.

Just hope the Raw after WM is a hell lot better than last years mess. Not expecting to see The Rock & Roman for a while now, maybe Summerslam or even possibly later? I’m expecting Seth to be Cody’s 1st title defence opponent. Got a feeling Seth’s going to turn on him tonight or on Smackdown as a sort of jealousy act and blame him for losing his world title.

You're...going to love me
I'm guessing im in the miniority about the ending for the main event. Fine with it being a overbooked mess with run ins, but none of it felt like it hit with me. Seeing Cena was great, but why AA Roman when everyone else seemed solely about stopping the other bloodline members. Undertaker turning up did get me excited, then the lights turn up, he's not even in his gear and only chokeslams Rock because there's probably no way he can get him up for the tombstone. Seth looked like a goober. Happy Cody won but I might have preferred it with Cody and Seth winning last night, Roman forced to do it alone, we see how good he can be without relying on interfearence but ultimately succombs to Cody's resolve.

Also isn't Bruce Pritchard peripheral to the Vince shit? Was it a wise choice thanking and bring him out?

Absolute chaos and I loved it. Only thing missing was Stone Cold that would have made an already great moment legendary.

Hope we get more of Final Boss Rock before long. Also shoutout to the ring announcer Samantha Irvin I think she’s brilliant

I see your point and agree to a certain extent but I think Triple H also knows the business. He wrestled. Heck, he is one of the absolute greatest of all timers. He's sat in the back, he's watched, studied, followed, worked his arse off and from his two pressers after both Mania nights you can just see the passion running through him.

He says they have lots of ideas, some may work, some won't. He's not afraid for change whereas Vince was. Just look at what Trips did with NXT. Now you have Shawn Michaels at NXT and Trips at WWE so you basically have DX in control of the entire thing with The Rock having a huge say also.

Trips pointed out the new camera angles and cinematography and is most definitely focused on the looks and feel from the fans point of view. Being a classic heel himself he won't be afraid to stir it up too.

Another thing I noticed over the two nights was far less time between matches and the focus entirety on the matches. Much less backroom bullshit and filler. The filler they did have like Snoop was great and added to the event rather than was just there.

Look, I grew up with WWF, WCW and ECW. I used to watch WCW 35 years ago on ITV when Sid Justice used to come out and powerbomb someone then walk off. Flying Brian, Big Van Vader, then Hulk, Ultimate Warrior, Sergeant Slaughter etc... it was only when the much mentioned Attitude Era came about that it went absolutely batshit and people outside of normal wrestling started to take notice. The Rock, Stone Cold, Mick Foley/Mankind/Dude Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and Kane, DX.... That for me was the pinnacle and although I've followed enthusiastically since, I've never really felt it's ever been as special as back then.

I love Cena, Randy Orton, Owens, Seth, Brock, Daniel Bryan etc.... and they held it well for years, as did more recently with Bray Wyatt (RIP) and co but it was always hit and miss. Either way too predictable, forced or just full of filler shit and the odd one or two surprise matches with the events being held up by those mentioned above.

Now I feel different. The last few months really since the Rumble have been fecking sensational, both on Raw, Smackdown and all over social media. Last night just capped it all off with the best PPV since the attitude era. Possibly my favourite all round PPV of all time. It ranks up there alongside a few matches like Taker/Mankind Taker/Michaels HHH/Taker Rock/Austin Brock/Cena some individual match build up promos (The Rock v Cena Boston) and most of the DX skits. (I've forgotten loads there I know)

The buzz around last night is unrivalled and I'm just hoping they can keep it up. If they do, and even go one further and beat it then we as wrestling fans are all in for one hell of a ride.

To add to that, I have worked out what's the biggest difference. It feels like a breath of fresh air. It feels like the shackles and restraints have come off. So many small differences but you can tell an overall happier feel from everyone involved. Steph coming out was such a huge moment no matter what you feel about her. And in every interview you could tell everyone wanted to say Vince was the reason for so much issues, but they didn't. Well, they did, just not in so many words. A pioneer he may have been but ultimately he's ended up strangling and poisoning the WWE and holding it back.

I personally don’t mind Samantha Irvin. And I know times have moved on. But sometimes I wonder if the overly emotional stuff creeps into slightly unprofessional. I like the classic ring announcement style too

Looking for the answers...
HHH said in the press conference after Mania that he has a new and exciting direction for Roman to take although Roman still has Leukemia and needs time between matches hence his sporadic showings over the last year or so.
Is that right? I didn’t know he still had leukaemia tbh, thought he’d gone into Remission.

Yeah, but it's not that simple with leukemia as it can return at any time. It can take years to be finally clear of it and apparently Roman is still undergoing treatment from time to time and still obviously suffers from the effects of the disease and the treatment of it. Basically, he's doing well, remarkably well, but he's not out of the woods yet.

Night 2 was truly excellent. Shocked at how fun final testament/the pride was.

I think she's a legit wrestling fan. But I too cringed a little at that bit.

Her introductions are amazing, I think she's the best ever in that regard already, and I love the way she says "The challengah..." but the voice-breaking when announcing certain winners is a bit silly.

Night 1 was good but Night 2 was fecking spectacular.

The main event with just Roman/Cody is all-time great match on its own and then you had the madness of the closing minutes. I just started laughing when Undertaker's bell tolled. Also, for some fecking reason, when The Shield music hit I thought; "It couldn't be Moxley, could it?"

I saw a good line on Reddit; "Roman was too concerned with finishing his own story with Rollins than finishing off Cody and it cost him." Never thought of it that way but it's very cool and more nuanced than I wrestling usually is.

The US title triple threat was a great match too. Logan Paul is disgustingly good at wrestling.

Bayley/Iyo, another good match and a nice moment for Bayley.

LA Knight/AJ was good too.

The 6 man tag was fun.

Rollins/Drew was great and they gave Drew his Mania moment in front of fans......and then fecking snatched it away . His tweet was fecking brilliant too.

Outstanding Mania.

Night 2 was presented like takeover with the hot start, then a good match with every match getting better until the main event which was usually the best

Excellent stuff
