I was trying to follow the game while watching United v City, but hadn't realised Lacey had got two assists for the goals. That's good news, as I like what I've heard of him, and the bits I've seen of him so far.
Pleased for Fitzgerald as well, getting what I think is his first goal for the U18's.

There's a resemblance in running style for sure, both with the ball and without. Both of them glide across the pitch. Technically very good on the ball and in tight spaces so you can see why the comparisons are made. Although Lacey is a dead ball specialist too.No idea. Not disputing that Foden may have been the bigger talent but Lacey was 8 months younger than Foden was at the time of his U18 debut (he's still younger now). Lacey doesn't even turn 16 until April. Lacey has plenty of time to show what he's about.Foden was tearing up the U18s level at the same age so they are definitely not *that* similar.
I feel like people should appreciate Lacey's talent (and be patient with it!) rather than bringing bs comparison.

Yeah, that's how I read most of the 'comparisons' for youth players v established players. It's not saying they're already at that level, or predicting that they'll ever get to that level. This Is just a big fat lie. Foden made his debut at 16 yrs and 3 month while Lacey is not yet 16. For context Lacey would only be 16yrs and 4 months at the start of next season.
