FFS I went downstairs to grab a Mars bar and missed the second goal.

Missin escapes from the right and drills a good cross in. Keeper gets a slight touch but it falls to Biancheri who taps it in.

We’ve got such a technically talented side. As it should be really but it’s a joy to watch us in this form.

Edit: Must be said that we’ve faced three poor sides so far but a great start to the season regardless.

Baumann has a little bit about him as well. Lots of quality in this team, probably our strongest U18 group since the team Greenwood and Laird were a part of.

Biancheri has fantastic positioning, very good instincts.

Again strong hold-up play from Wheatley, cuts it back to Missin whose shot is parried to the Welsh forward who taps in his second of the afternoon.

Tyler Fletcher comes on for his debut, replaces Baumann who also had a solid game.

Strong play from Musa and Biancheri on the left but Musa’s finish isn’t the cleanest. Corner for United and Wheatley almost heads it in.

It’s been an enjoyable game so far. Impressed again with the change in formation that has seen us control the game better.
Also impressed with Devaney. Quietly goes about his business but uses the ball really well. Myles also good on the ball like Harrison.
Was about to post about Biancheri and he scores a hatrick. Hardworking and very good awareness and positioning.

Biancheri close to his fourth. Munro’s effort after a corner bounces to the far post but the striker can’t reach to the ball in time.

Great to see Missin stepping up. He looks to have had a good growth spurt. He was tiny down the age groups but it doesn't look like he's lost any of that agility, and the fearlessness that he had dribbling past players.

Biancheri looks to be settling in well. Hopefully that gives him that bit of confidence to step it up a notch in the next few games.

4-1. Munro will be disappointed with that. He loses the ball carelessly and it’s an easy tap-in for the visitors.

Ethan Wheatley is a more interesting prospect than Biancheri tbh

It’s a good sign Lacey didn’t get frustrated with his first half, much better after the break.

Perhaps no reason to compare but yeah it looks like Wheatley has more to his game than Biancheri, who kind of like McNeill has scored shedloads throughout his youth career but overall needs to improve in many aspects. Although he has showed a lot of those needed traits today.

FT 4-1 (Wheatley, Biancheri x3)

McAllister would’ve been the PotM for me, but you can’t ignore Biancheri’s performance. Wheatley, Missin, Amass very good as well. And Musa helping out as a LB did very well at both ends of the pitch.

Both very different. Wheatley certainly needs to improve his finishing, he's been wasteful today. Biancheri came in with a sizeable reputation. Will be interesting to see how both develop.

I was impressed with Amass on debut too. Looks technically very capable and he attacked well and looked to link up inside and out. Did well I think.

2 good striker prospects in the same age group

Hopefully the wheel is coming back around and teams will start to produce some good CBs and STs again.

Early season - but this is one of the most promising U18-sides we have had in a long time. Especially if you take into consideration how many players we have with quality, and how young this squad is. Today we had 7 players who were 16 years old - and we played without Ogunneye, Gore, Lawrence, Oyedele, Fredericson, Murray, Jackson, Aljofree, Harrison, Nolan, Moorhouse, Scanlon, Mather, Williams, Berry and Ennis - who all could have played.

Missin was MOTM for me - but as you say, if you score 3 goals in 45 minutes of football - you probably will get the award.

Missin was very good in the first half but faded away in the second. Not criticising him by any means, he was electric. Just can’t stop admiring how mature McAllister is. But yeah a team full of good performances once again today.

Lacey is probably the most talented of the bunch - but he is also the one who has the most to learn tactically. He gives you a goal a game - but he also wastes 2-3 huge chances by making weird decisions. But if he learns to make the right decisions, what a cracking player he will be
