The last U23 game for two weeks, so should play a strong side. Have a feeling players like Neville, Bejger, and Stanley will play though. Team news should be out shortly.

1-0 Hugill after 70 seconds.

Hannibal will be lucky to go the full season not getting injured, so many late unnecessary tackles on him.

Blackburn really controlled the last 20 mins or so.

Fish and Bernard the pick of the bunch again, superb from both of them.

Neville made a few good defensive contributions too, kept it simple on the ball.

Really not much from the forwards or midfielders. Hannibal must have about 50% pass completion.

Keep forgetting Wellens is even out there.

Elanga not getting into it much and hasn’t worked the couple times he has had a run. Nice flick for the goal.

Hansen pretty quiet. Hugill nice finish and almost had another good chance when Hannibal should have shot himself. Been quiet apart from that.

Quite sloppy game altogether.

Ben Paton for Blackburn also from my local youth club. Two matches in a row the opposition have had a Canadian from the same club as me. Must be the first time that has ever happened.

So at 17 Fish is doing very well and captaining the side? Could he get a loan soon?

No, don't think we'd ever consider loaning out a 17 year old. This is only his first year with the U23s.

McCann off for Bejger who goes to LB. Ercolani into CB and Bernard into DM.

McCann had some nice touches and linkup but he’s not much of a DM tbh. Constantly finds himself all over the place.

Our midfield has been absolutely awful in these first games. When you consider how well Fish and Bernard have played despite 9 goals against - it shows how poor those guys in front of them have been

So will this be 3 straight losses to start the season? Not looking good

At this rate hugill could make the first team next season

This team is very very young having 16yr olds shola and Hansen in midfield and 16yr old striker is very promising.

The average age of the U23s is around 17.

Yea they were dreadful again. At least with the Leicester and Liverpool matches though you could see they had a clear plan of pressing tight and not giving an easy chance to turn up. Our midfielders completely wilted under that and offered nothing to combat the press but i guess you can write that off to never dealing with that type of pressure before.

Today though, there was no press, no tight marking, was space and time all over the place. Just no quality. So sloppy, so many poor giveaways and just little control to the play.

Got the point today but Blackburn were nowhere near as good as Leicester or Liverpool were.

Fish and Bernard were fantastic again though. Crazy to think, when you see those score lines everyone would think the defence is terrible, but nope, the CBS have been the best players in every match.

Equalizing goal. Elanga tearing down the right to deliver a cross for Hugill's tap in. Did someone say United need a right-winger?
