Alvaro's interesting, he would get skinned at left back but since moving around he has got better. His attack is excellent.Noticed an insane level of pressing at the u23 level against Brighton. RR is definitely having an effect at that level at least, probably because they are more open to learning and adapting to his ideas. Alvaro Fernandez looks like he's first team ready.
What positions has he played since left back? I know he has played central defence. What position does he play in currently?Alvaro's interesting, he would get skinned at left back but since moving around he has got better. His attack is excellent.
He's been left wing back, so higher up the pitch which suits him. What positions has he played since left back? I know he has played central defence. What position does he play in currently?
The way he drives forward with the ball reminds me of a young Gareth Bale. Really excited to see how he develops his other parts of the game. He's been left wing back, so higher up the pitch which suits him.

The goal is to make it tough for the existing players. To be expected with the side we fielded which almost was an U18-side. Arsenal had 3 players over 20, we had none. Arsenal had just one who was 17 years old, we had 3.
Graczayk 19, Sousa 17, Awe 18, Monlouis 18, Tomiyasu 23, Olayinka 21, Azeez 19, Smith 21, Sagoe 18, Edwards 18, Marquinhos 19 (average age of roughly 19,2)
Mee 19, Jurado 18, Hardley 19, Fredricsson 17, Wellens 19, Gore 17, Hansen Aaroen 17, Savage 19, Mejia 19, McNeill 18, Forson 18 (average age of 18,2)
But if we let 3-4 more of our U23-players go out on loan - chances are we will have a tough time this season - and we need to use a lot of U18-players all season

So playing with a team that on average is 1 year younger at that age doesn't matter ? Being without close to 15 players who could have played. You don't think it would matter that we didn't play Fernandez, Hannibal, Bernard, Garnacho, Fish, Hugill, Shoretire, Mainoo, Kovar or Vitek in goal, Laird, Bennett, Galbraith, Iqbal or Emeran - because they are with the first team, injured or on-loan ?we love a good excuse when we get beat
Cant see many of these with first team? Most teams in u21s football have lads 18 or 19. Most physical differences have levelled themselves up by around 20. If you aint around first team by around that point you may as well get going. So playing with a team that on average is 1 year younger at that age doesn't matter ? Some truth in this, you will find all top sides have mix of 2nd and third years in U21 ie 17 and 18 year olds, with third years ie 19 year old out on loan being out on loan. U18 sides you will find are first and 2nd years ie 16 & 17 year olds generally with the odd 15 year old thrown in if they develop early. It’s the pathway planning the top clubs follow, if you are giving a kid a 3-4 year contract then by the end of that contract you want to start looking at how they will fit mens football. Basically United’s 18 and 21s will be of similar average age to other top sides and should be judged like for like. I also think the quality to make it in to United first team needs to be CL level, but I fear the clubs standards have dropped below this. I just listened to a Frank Lampard podcast where he talked about his time at City and said the vision of being the best was completely aligned and fixed top to bottom and how you could smell success on the horizon. We need to get back that expectation, and alignment from owners down to U9s, which I fear means the Glazers need to go for the club to compete again at all level.Cant see many of these with first team? And it’s actually being broadcast live on MUTV!Palace tonight U23 - wonderful to watch a game I can enjoy without being nervous, angry, depressed
The keeper and up to five outfield players can be over 21 which kind of defeats the whole purpose of changing the name (again). And it’s actually being broadcast live on MUTV!
I see it’s down as “U21s” has there been any change to who can/can’t play in these matches?
Interesting. Thanks. No real change so.The keeper and up to five outfield players can be over 21 which kind of defeats the whole purpose of changing the name (again).

Kovar, Bishop, Vitek, Mastny - we have plenty of them.https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-keeper-dermot-mee-joins-altrincham-on-loan
Looks like Mee has left on loan. To be honest, he looked like an absolute trainwreck against Palace at the weekend and should in all probability be sent off so hope this loan helps him improve. Who is gonna replace him? Kovar?
