Because despite the lip service ,clubs around the world do not rate him as highly as the red tinted United fans.
am guessing you don't get to too many games.
You'd probably say it was the minority of fans giving Rooney an amazing reception against Chelsea.

Having said that, reading on here at times you'd think everyone was against him. Forums never hold the real opinion of the fans I find. Mostly run by kids.

Bundesliga star's agent claims his client turned down Manchester United this summer

Another day and another player said to have turned down a move to Manchester United. It's getting a bit silly now, and some of the claims are sounding a little unbelievable and could be being used to enhance the reputation of players mentioned. Manchester United didn't have the best of transfer window and they did miss out on targets but it appears agents are keen to make it look like their player was also in the mix.

This week there have already been reports claiming Arda Turan was approached during the summer and now Thies Bliemeister has told Bild that his client Heung-Min Son was also approached by the Premier League champions "Even United wanted Sonny. Manchester United were very interested in him. We had already held talks. HSV to Manchester had also been reported.

"The interest was a great honour for Son. But Leverkusen had simply made the best impression. And as an intermediate step, Bayer is ideal for his career now."

His agent claims that Manchester United had been sending scouts to watch the player for some time and the club's chief scout was sent to Germany on several occasions to keep an eye on the player. It wouldn't be a shock if Manchester United were scouting him, last season the club appeared to be scouting around Europe in more number than they have previously, it's quite some step from that to turning down the club.

Son was linked with several clubs before he moved from Hamburg to Bayer Leverkusen, there were leaks through Bild that other Premier league sides as well as La Liga teams were looking to sign the player and it helped build his reputation. He's a good young player but it's getting harder to believe with each new claim that Manchester United were turned down by so many footballers this summer, it's very possible that agents are taking advantage of the club's perceived incompetence.

Have you ever thought it is in their interest to say they turned United down, if we are linked with someone, even if we never actually spoke to them at all, it raises their value and agents know it. I would take some of these statements with a pinch of salt. There are too many players coming forward now. Some of the stories will be utter rubbish.

"Hello good after Mr Moyes! I'm Thies Bliemeister, the agent for Heung-Min Son who's gonna be one of the best player in the world. Would you be interested in signing him?"

"Alright thanks for calling, we'll check him out. Good bye."

Woodward is supposed to meeting some fans groups today to talk about our transfer window. Hopefully somebody on here will hear what is said. Should be interesting.

That should be fun.or some.sort of punishment/prank set by the Glazers.

More bulshit from Eddie to come. If he honestly thinks that Fiberglass is worth 25 mil pounds and pays 27 mil for Fellaini tehn im not keeping much faith in him.

Manchester United made a sensational bid for Gareth Bale this summer, according to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
United manager David Moyes suffered a summer of frustration in the transfer window, missing out on such targets as Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Ander Herrera.
And now you can add another midfielder’s name to that list – Bale – if Perez’s claims are accurate.
The Madrid supremo said:
“Signing the best players out there is Madrid’s philosophy and Bale was the best available player on the market this summer. We had been following him for two years.
“Tottenham did not want to sell. We learned that Manchester United had made an offer and we made one ourselves.”
Perez’s claim tallies with previous reports that the English champions made a dramatic, last minute bid to scupper Madrid’s pursuit of the 24-year-old.
But the bid failed when Bale instead completed a world-transfer-record-breaking move to the Spanish capital, estimated to have been somewhere in the region of £85.3 million.
The Wales international immediately enamoured himself with Madridistas by scoring on his debut at Villarreal, though injury later ruled the ex-Southampton man out of Madrid’s home clash with Getafe last weekend.
News that United tried – but failed – to sign the double PFA Player of the Year will hit hard, as will the fact former player Cristiano Ronaldo has penned a new, three-year contract extension at the Bernabeu.
Perez concluded:
“The renewal of Cristiano Ronaldo has been easy – he is determined to finish his career at Real Madrid.
“Cristiano never spoke of money with me.”
United have made their worst start to a Premier League season in nine years and are currently eighth in the table following their crushing 4-1 defeat to neighbours Manchester City.

Doubt we put in a bid , more likely Levy using us as a bargaining chip.
