City will have Joe Hart in goal, he's the only real 'name' in their side. No United team up on the official site yet.

Isn't that line up a bit lacking in strikers?

We've essentially got 8 players who's preferred position is in midfield.

A goalie, three centre-backs, four centre-mids and three left-wingers - it's novel, I like it.

Would be nice to complete a clean sweep over City for the season.

why the feck is Lee Martin still at the club ?

He's obviously not going to make it. Thought he'd be released by now.

In fairness to him his attitude and commitment since he came back has been great. Easily our best player of late in the reserves. He wont be released (not sure about his current contract) we'll defo get a couple of million for him if he keeps up his current form

Don't think there's any chance we get £2m for him. Same sort of fee we got for Eagles is about the most we could hope for, likely less given his injury history and succession of failed loan spells.

It looked hard to tell what system we played but at a guess it was 4:5:1 with Martin up front.

But Tosic and Possebon looked so disinterested it was difficult to see what they were doing.

Luckily City were worse!

Bolton are our opponents in the final again by the way.
''With group fixtures still to be fulfilled by other sides, United will have to wait to discover whether they will have the chance to defend the Manchester Senior Cup at this year's final.''

That's at the bottom of the manutd.com report of last night's game. Are we definitely in the final?

I can't see how we possibly can't be.

All the results so far:

11/08/08 Bolton 2-2 City (Bolton win 4-3 on pens)
20/08/08 Oldham 3-2 City
03/09/08 Bury 0-2 United
17/09/08 Oldham 2-1 Bury
24/09/08 Oldham 5-3 Stockport
14/10/08 United 2-1 Oldham
30/10/08 United 0-0 Bolton (Bolton win 9-8 on pens)
10/11/08 Bolton 2-1 Stockport
09/02/09 United 0-0 Stockport (Stockport win 8-7 on pens)
17/02/09 Bolton 4-1 Oldham
04/03/09 City 1-0 Bury
09/03/09 City 0-1 United
17/03/09 Bury vs Stockport
28/04/09 Bury vs Bolton
TBC City vs Stockport

Which leaves the table looking like this (noting that teams who lose penalty shoot-outs earn one point rather than the usual zero for a defeat):

Bolton 12
United 11
Oldham 9
City 4
Stockport 3
Bury 0

Oldham have played all their games so can't catch us, none of the other teams with games remaining can possibly catch us.

The final last season was a good game. Possebon was fantastic. I´d love to see him reach that form again.
