Definatley a strong contender, it was

The calmness of the chip was just sublime, it was just Cantonesque and there's no greater praise than that in my book.

Glazer get to a after drink brawl with Shittu, bot
Butty done really well to response to what his mate has done ... but then again - guess it's just not enough !! ... the chip of Beckham will make all Rivaldo, Zidane or Figo feel embarrasing .. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Amazing thing about it was it was his first touch, he didn't even bother to kill the movement of the ball first, he just deftly touched his foot to it from a sharp angle and with mathematical precision chipped the goalie from distance. Stunning technique. Add to that a penalty, a great free kick assist, tackling back and involvement in the other goals and it was one of his best games for us. Those who say he only plays like that for England should change their opinion (and look at some videos of United from previous seasons).

Becks' first yesterday is a strong contender. RVN's flying overhead kick which hit the bar a few weeks back (forget against who) would've been a shoe in if it went in.

I have to disagree with you there. Rivaldo, Zidane and Figo do that week in week out, whilst Beckham hardly scores wonder goals every time.

Verons goal against Everton (either them or Ipswich) where he did a one two with Keano was class, as was Verons free kick against Bolton.
But how can you beat Phillip Neville against Southamton ;)

It was against Blackburn wasn't it?

Will have to watch the rerun on Wednesday courtesy of FSW, didn't get to see it on Saturday. :( But from how the commentators etc. have been raving on about it, it sounds pretty special.

I'd need to see all of them to decide. But it would definitely be up there.

Right they all score 40 wondergoals a season.
<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
By the way Figo who is playing a poor season (by his standards) has scored 2 goals this season from open play so far.
Don`t get me wrong they all 3 worldclass players. But there is no need to overhype them and to say they are magnificent week in week out. I`ve watched Barca-Real yesterday and none of them was really outstanding.

Barça-Madrid matches are overly hyped anyway and always end up being a bore. The standards are set too high, too much pressure is put on the players. In Marca they start a good week before previewing the match, bringing up every fact and anecdote possible on the match. Zidane scored a blinder against Deportivo, turned the defence round on its head. Rivaldo has scored some very decent bicycle kicks including the winning goal on the last day of the season against Valencia  . He also did this assist/goal (it was really his goal) against depor this season. Controlled the ball in mid air, put it over the defenders head, then the goalies and then a player came in the second post and put it in. If you havent seen that bit of skill, i seriously advise that you do because it left me amazed. To say that Zidane, Figo and Zidane dont score blinders is stupid, because they do. If they didnt they wouldnt be considered the best players in the world would they?? Im not taking anything away from becks' goal because i thought it was a wonderful piece of skill, but just because becks scores a beautiful goal it doesnt mean that other players cant.

I didn`t say they can`t. As I wrote Zidane, Rivaldo,Figo are all worldclass and can do fantastique things on the field. I`ve just said that it is nonsense to write that they score wondergoals week in week out. ;)

Boddingtons will officially be City's new shirt sponsor next season in the Prem.

Expect much jumping up and down and banners from the bluenoses proclaiming "City - the Cream of Manchester" etc...etc...

by the way, from next season OT's official in-house beer will be Budweiser.

True, they don`t score wonder goals week inweek out,if they did they wouldn`t have lost to Deportivo the other week, non?

Watch Beckham he`ll score wonder goals every week now!!!!

Of course players cant score wonder goals week in week out, if not wondergoals would lose their value wouldnt they?? I just fail to see any point in this argument. All these players mentioned have scoree wonder goals, so whats the problem??

The commentator today (Villa/Arses) was harping on about how beautiful Pires lob was. IMO Becks' was far superior in skill, timing, speed, angle and distance.

Back to the Villa game - Why O why did they allow Barry to take that fecking penalty???? Villains crosses were creating all sorts of problems to Arsenal. Maybe this is the way to go against them at OT. Only problem being we don't have a Dion Dublin in front.

My fave was either of RVN's goals against Villa in the cup. While not as flashy as others previously mentioned it was simply the best feeling of the season thus far.

I also think that Becks goal was more difficult than Pires'. The thing is Becks hit it first time, without even controling the ball first.
