I once said Darmien was the best right back in the world
I was sure Cleverly over Pogba was the right choice
I (briefly) thought Lindegaard was a better keeper than De Gea
At one point I thought Nigel Reo-Coker would become the next Keane.
thats outlandishI too believed for way too long that Anderson would turn it around and become one of the best midfielders in the world.
Liverpool was the most successful club when the PL formed though...Delusional thing said: Liverpool will be the most successful club when the Premier league was formed. That speculation turned out to be a joke.
Prior to those defeats we’d put together a decent winning run: six straight wins in all competitions I think, and I did wonder whether we’d turned a corner and Moyes wouldn’t be the disaster I’d expected him to be.I am not sure what I did say, but I did have some faith Moyes would turn it around for a long time mainly based on thinking he could be as good as SAF given that he was picked by him. It was really low when Swansea knocked us out of the cup though and Spurs did beat us in the league both at Olf Trafford.
Being knocked out by Sunderland on penalties really killed my faith though. We had the game, but the poor mentality really just destroyed us in that one. At that point I just did feel that Moyes would just never be a winner.
The most delusional thing I read on here was a mod shouting me down telling me that Welbeck was going to leading the line for us for the next decade, and nailed on to be a club captain as well.At some point I thought Anderson was going to be our Midfield general. I thought welbeck would turn into a goal machine in his mid 20's.

He was sold the following season.
I honestly think it was more blind optimism or hope. Towards the end of his reign he was getting the best out of some average players for us. Naively I assumed that with the purse strings lifted we could buy world class players in all positions like Real Madrid or Barca do.Wow that is quite a lot to think we would improve with Moyes. I guess the more optimistic of us did think he would be able to keep it up at best.
I'm probably missing something obvious, but what the hell is VNL?I was really sceptical about VNL - that's the one thing Mourinho got right.
If there will really be a transfer ban you might actually get one right this time!Kakuta/Boga/McEachren/Chalobah/Musonda/Aina will be the first to break into the Chelsea first team since Terry.
I was wrong then but CHO, Mount or in a few years Anjorin will be the one.
I prefer the term "optimistic" rather than delusional.
preceded by "those of us who understand the game will miss you"Selling Fellaini was a mistake.
It's not a middle name, his last name is actually Nilsson-Lindelöf.Oh wait. It's Lindelof of course. But why on earth would you refer to him by a completely unknown middle name?
Many did. Even RAWK were quoted as saying "Shit. They're back."When we signed Sanchez last January I remember saying to someone at work we could win the UCL. Haven’t lived that one down yet!
Surely Christensen already is the one?Kakuta/Boga/McEachren/Chalobah/Musonda/Aina will be the first to break into the Chelsea first team since Terry.

It might have been a bit excessive to think that Hargreaves was "much better', but he was certainly in the ballpark of being as good as Carrick, and arguably better, although they had differing assets. Carrick looks the better player now because he didn't get a really bad injury as Hargreaves did, and his career didn't fizzle out. Hargreaves got more England caps than Carrick, despite having a shorter career, because he probably was the better player.I thought Hargreaves was a much better footballer than Carrick
Nah, his Radio X show is fairly amusing on the drive home from work.I liked Johnny Vaughan when I was younger, thought he was hilarious.
Jesus how wrong I was
