Already posted a Barcelona one but imagine going to watch this team play :drool::drool:

Left winger is Neymar but could stick David Villa there too

Ronaldo at 18 was just a winger but I am sure we have played Giggs behind a striker, he wasn't too bad. Scholes would ideally play there but I wouldn't know how to make that all work.
Ronaldo's inexperience and lack of defensive ability would have seen him either in the supporting role to Ruud, or on the bench with a healthy Ole up front (he got crocked early on that season, thus allowing Ronaldo to start more often), and Giggs on the left.

Not 100% sure if all the above could’ve realistically played together, but feck me Monaco has had some brilliant players throughout the years...
And you are not even close to the best players, Amoros, Onnis, Weah, Bellone, Hoddle are better than the players you choose. Monaco had great players.

Courtois
Azpilicueta - Zouma - David Luiz - Felipe Luis
Matic - Fabregas
De Bruyne - Mata - Hazard
Lukaku

Looks sick imo.

But Real is probably the best one

Navas
Carvajal - Ramos - Varane - Marcelo
Modric - Di Maria
Ozil
Robben - Higuaín - Ronaldo

Very attack minded.

Probably right, went with players I properly remember playing.

Ignore the confusing thread title, not sure how to word it but basically the topic is this.. which potentially majestic teams can you come up with from the past based on the fact if they had kept certain players and recruited as they went on to do (please do not mention failed signings which didn't actually happen i.e. Ronaldinho to United and don't take it too far i.e. imagine if Cantona had played with C. Ronaldo (ages too far apart - different eras as Cantona was already hitting 30 odd during 1997/98))..
I also tried to take this into account ;)

Parma are one of the obvious ones surely had they retained the likes of Buffon, Thuram, Cannavaro, Veron, Crespo, Ortega, Chiesa, etc.

I know we wouldn't have seen the Co92 but I would have liked Kanchelskis, Ince and Hughes to have been able to continue. fecking LOVED that team!

I do wonder if we'd have won more silverware if that whining little fecker Robben hadn't ponced off to Real.

Juventus team prior to Calciopoli was fantastic, they could have gone on to win the CL in the next couple of years, no doubt.

Vieira was declining badly, as was Thuram. Del Piero was more hit and miss than before, and their bench strength was weak. We beat them quite comfortably with an 18 year old in center midfield and a defence comprising of Eboue, Senderos, Toure and Flamini.

They wouldn't have done squat.

Still celebrating the mid-noughties?

Without the pen he missed in 2012's CL final against you guys, your obscene fluke triumph would have never happened in the first place:lol:
So I guess it turned out to be a lucky circumstance

OK, so the muppet team of my lifetime would be:

Schmeichel

Evra - Stam - Ferdinand - Neville

Giggs - Keane - Scholes- Ronaldo

Van Nistlerooy - Cantona

I have always been obsessed with the idea of Ruud playing in the treble winning side. Likewise I have long held a theory that Stam and Rio would have been amazing. I can already hear my dad shouting at me for not including Dennis Irwin. Totally breaks the rules of thread but I just wanted to type that out.

A more realistic side:

De Gea

Evra - Rio - Vidic - Neville

Giggs - Pogba - Carrick - Ronaldo

Di Maria

Falcao (before he got shit)

That team would be pretty good!

Age wise the back 4 would be tough to work and Giggs would be past his best to play with even early Juve Pogba . I suppose even that team is probably cheating as well :( Im a muppet, but I enjoyed this!

My original idea was just putting Rudd and Rio into the 99 side... but that breaks the rules as well :p
