I saw it yesterday while shopping. Seems to be new.

Who the heck would buy that? He’s an absolute nothing of a person. I only know of him because I used to work opposite where his stupid game show was filmed. Has he even done anything else?

Any other pointless Autobiographies?

For people like Jen

I couldn’t put this book down. Such a brilliant read with some real heart warming moments and many laugh out louds too! Such an inspiring guy who’s worked so hard yet stays so humble. Best book I’ve read for years, cheers paddy.

Same reason Katie price has, there’s too many morons in the world, that waster should be doing time in jail yet people still support her.

I'd feel far less embarrassed reading a hentai mag on the train than I would do this.

Bet everyone in this thread so far spends 20min making their coffee because nothing else will do apart from some obscure beans that taste like piss.

You do get that feeling.

For the OP, he's decently famous and has lived a life. You don't need much more than that.

I remember watching this on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. The lad Preston walked off because Simon Amstel was reading extracts from his Big Brother famous wifes book.

Starts about 2 minutes in. Quality at the time and still is for the most part.

I like Paddy McGuiness, only got to where he was due to being best friends with Peter Kay, but most people had to get their break somewhere. Plenty of famous people who are far less famous than Paddy have their own autobiography.

I love Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere and Phoenix Nights, so would give this a read. If he thinks people want to read his book then good for him, what harm is it doing?

Doesn’t he have 3 autistic kids and an autistic wife who recently got her tits out for cancer? It’s probably not a dull read.

Saw an advert on the BBC and I think the kids are, not sure about the wife but I did not watch the programme nor read his book.

I have ASD and one of the problems with ASD in the media is that there is currently only mostly a focus on kids with ASD. If adults are discussed it is usually people on the extreme ends (either those who need carers or savants). The majority of adults with ASD are just regular folk some of whom need support in their own way.

If she does have ASD, I hope there is a good amount in the book which does discuss her issues because females are also heavily underrepresented. Overall though, a TV show or films which feature adults with ASD not at the extreme ends will do more to educate the public than a book simply because of the greater exposure.

I’ve no idea about the book, hopefully it is mentioned seen as it is a big part of his life. His wife was diagnosed (unsure if officially) on the programme, that’s why I know about it, it was really interesting. He clearly hasn’t had an easy life and talks about his depression on the show. I’d be interested in his book, but I know that goes against this thread

I get him confused with Vernon Kay. Anyway, it’s no worse I imagine than 100s of other “stocking fillers” at this time of year, and most autobiographies are a joke anyway (“Managing My Life” excepted of course).

To be honest I only recognised the name (just now) because the BBC show was advertised for a short while on the front page of its website, quite close to the top. Otherwise I would never have known who he was .

Where are you from? Just asking as everyone from the UK surely knows who he is unless they live under a rock.

Agree with this, which is why I thought it was quite interesting to see the BBC focus on Melanie Sykes last month after she was diagnosed with ASD.

Personally I think there's far more neurodiverse people in society than we tend to think, including associated conditions like ADD.

I think I once came across a statistic that it was 1 in 60 people or something. I can relate to a lot of what she says in that short clip, although my assessment during the lockdown lasted just over an hour over zoom and the assessor than "couldn't diagnose", but then gave a diagnosis after I provided more evidence which was a bunch of notes that I had. The clip highlights to me further how difficult getting a diagnosis is and how much it varies due to the "NHS postcode lottery" as well as going private.

I always thought this was hilarious until I read that apparently he didn't actually want to marry her and they broke up pretty much after a month, making it official ten months later.

Always thought he was being a stuck up twat on the show but, in hindsight, feck knows where his head was.

Just bringing some Christmas cheer!

You're not the only one, absolutely brilliant comedy series both of them. It's a shame Peter Kay isn't doing much on TV nowadays, always came across as a really likeable guy. Hopefully what made him choose to stop isn't stopping him from leading a happy and healthy life.

He's shit, but inoffensively so, I would have thought. I have him filed in the same folder as Corden, Jamie Redknapp, Flintoff and the rest of those whoppers, where I don't see myself ever watching anything they're in and actively switch over when I see them, but I guess they're just not meant to appeal to folks like me. Let them at it.

I watched the documentary, it was very interesting. She was diagnosed by Simon Baron-Cohen on the show. She wasn’t a borderline case. Paul Scholes was also on it talking about his son Aaron who has ASD.

I'd put him in a tier below those three in terms of speed with which I turn over when I see them on TV. He's more Dermot O'Leary, Ben Fogel, that posh guy on Escape to the Country level.

Aye, it was a really interesting programme and I am sure this book will be too.

Actually, yeah, that sounds about right. Still a serious whiff of short leather jacket off him, though.
