Will we appoint a defensive coach and who should it be?

Was discussing this with a mate after the final, our defending at set pieces is a shambles. Was glad to hear this point raised by one of the lads on the Redcafe Podcast also. None of our coaches were defenders, so our shambles at the back might not be just down to the personnel on the pitch.

All season we have leaked goals that we should not have, leaving us with the most goals conceded in the top 4 of the league.

Back in the days of Fergie we had Carlos Queiroz, who particularly focused on defensive coaching, probably a bit too much, but it was successful.

Any suggestions for who we should appoint ?

Our set piece defending is tragic. As is Leeds’ so I guess Bielsa needs to improve his coaching too.

Mourinho won the PL with Chelsea then 3 years later he was finished. The shelf life of coaches is finite.

The only coaches who have won major honours in recent years are at City, Liverpool, Real and Bayern. We're not getting anyone from there.

Your strengths as a coach have little to do with the position you played, it's about how you understand the game in general and how you can share your understanding.

Our coaches are taken from outside of the club more than the likes of Barcelona, Bayern and Ajax.
