I went to a womyn's WC game once.... <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> one word.... FUGLY!!!
I play mixed teams all the time, a lot of really cute young blonde things, they won't play the open league so come with us over 30s (great for me and my pervy mates).
Surprisingly quite talented at the game too but North Carolina is certainly a big player for "soccer" in general. Dirty bitches kick the shit out of your ankles and the refs let them get away with it.

Had you read the full thread, you might have noticed that my comments were directed to the WNBA.
I have a daughter playing "soccer" and am aware that most uninformed Americans are more impressed with the US women beating Norway or China in the ultra-noncompetative world of international women's soccer than in the improvement in the men's team. As long as the women don't pull too many performances like the most recent debacle in China, glory-seeking uberpatriots will support the ladies.
Also--I have a degree from the University of Portland, and you know how Clive Charles' ladies did in this year's NCAA championship.
BTW, my first remark about the WNBA was a joke. There are more lesbians at a WNBA game than at a Melissa Ethridge concert.
The title of this thread is surely candidate for oxymoron of the year
