Could be in the wrong position, a player choosing something abstract or just a player that looks wrong with that number. What are some of the worst?

I'll start with William Gallas in the number 10 at centre back. Just terrible.

Ronaldo 99 at AC Milan is definitely one and Ronaldinho 80 I think also at AC

Any number above the 20s just doesn't look right. It gets worse the higher you go.

Italian and Eastern European clubs are notorious with this.

Always find it odd seeing Rui Patricio wear the No.11 in goal for Wolves. Reading online it was as Wolves' No.1 Carl Ikeme was forced to retire due to leukaemia and he didn't take the No.1 to honour him.

Still weird seeing 11 on a keeper.

Edgar Davids giving himself the No. 1 shirt at Barnet is a fun one.

Didn’t Kone wear 2 or 3? The Wigan striker, I mean.

I was #5 on the left wing for youth teams growing up. It’s why I was never actually scouted. The only reason.

I don't like 11. If I played in attack, I would have prefered any of 7, 9 and 10 ahead of 11. 11 is stupid.

Used to annoy me a bit when Ihenacho had a stupid number at City but normally don't get that fussed about squad numbers.

Feel as if both our clubs can commiserate here - not sure which is worse between the gigantic Chevrolet logo and our new furry mustache 3.

Yours is odious because the logo is coloured and it is almost comically massive; ours is a crime against all sensibility because it's absurd to have two different numbers on either side of the shirt and it looks as if an 8 year old created it with clipart in Microsoft Paint.

Total tossup IMO.

4 is a bit of a duff one.

3 is slightly better

Yeah daft, didn’t realise he insisted on the no 10, why though? Aside from being an oddball!!
He was a proper dickhead with an inferiority complex - he simultaneously resented that Chelsea preferred to get Ashley Cole instead of him at left back whilst also always complaining that he didn't get a look in at CB (when Terry and Carvalho were very obviously the better players). Once he moved to Arsenal he insisted on getting the 10 to make himself feel appreciated.

Very talented player but completely held back by his own idiocy.

Lizarazu picked 69 because he was born in 69 and was 1.69m tall apparently.

It’s my favourite bingo call though - “Dinner for two. 69.”

High squad numbers should be reserved for youth team players who can move to lower numbers as reward for becoming first team like Greenwood and Rashford, Beckham etc before him. First team players doing it annoys me like Tevez 32 and Matic 31. Hope united never retire a number, that pisses me off more
