Welcome to Manchester reception committee

West Ham have one point from their first four games, that came from a 1-1 draw with Spurs. They lost 1-9 to Arsenal last month - though they'd been drawing 1-1 until one of their players got a red card in the 34th minute, so there may be some mitigating circumstances there. They lost 3-1 to Everton last week, so they have had some though opponents.

We lost 3-2 to them in the equivalent match last year, the return fixture was cancelled.

The only other time we've played them was in the QF of the WSLCUP, when we won 2-0.

That is quite an attacking line up.

No worries
I always feel a little less certain when Ladd isn't in the starting line up, but otherwise a strong line up. Not too surprised that Press isn't starting. She seems to have taken a little longer than Heath to get going, and Russo has had a good start to the season.

3 decent chances already, pressing well.

Lovely start. We look up for this. 3 shots in 3 minutes.

Lets put one of these away please!

Is there anyway to toggle quality on the FA Player?
Mine keeps buffering today, would rather watch it at lower quality without interruption.

E: Nevermind, figured it out by switching to desktop site.

FFS, West ham scores.

We are not playing our best football atm. Groenen has been really quiet

Good first half from us. We've been absolutely dominant (not that you'd know from listening to the BBC commentary), and closed them down high up the pitch and created more than enough chances. Zelem was too slow to close down the wide player for the cross that led to their goal. We should go on to win this comfortably in the second half if we play like that again.

Oof, should've been from Toone.

Classic West Ham team here, whine about us making good tackles all game, then make a terrible one on us. Hopefully Groenen's alright.

4-2 FT.

Russo clear POTM, even aside from the goals and assist just a really good performance holding up and leading the line.

Heath has deserved that goal, glad Press has got off the mark too although she still looks rusty.

3 points. Dominated the 1st. Not as good in the 2nd but got the job done. Heath and Press off the mark as well. Russo just brilliant all over!

Everton up next. Will be a tough one.

Russo's link play was really impressive in the first half, sending Galton down the left several times. Super header for her 2nd goal. Assist for Heath's goal. Could have scored early on; a poor touch from Tobin's pass then didn't get a great connection on her shot a minute late. Disappeared in the 2nd half apart from setting up a big chance for Toone. Offside several times. Service to her was poor in the 2nd half.

Tobin Heath started well, then a bit patchy, great strike for her goal. Wasted a big chance in the 2nd half with a horrible finish. Surprised she got substituted relatively early.

Galton was excellent in the first half then disappeared as an attacking force in the 2nd half. Did well for the assist for the opening goal. Super cross for Russo's 2nd goal.

Groenen unimpressive today. Katie Zelem quite creative at times in the first half, good cross for the first goal. Toone stole possession for our 2nd goal, looked decent first half but not great in the 2nd, wasted a big chance from Russo's pass. Hayley Ladd played well when she came on. Hanson not so good.

Nice volley from Press for her goal. Good free-kick from Staniforth.

Defenders made a series of poor attempted clearances and gave the ball away far too often in the 2nd half. Okvist ok in the first half but seemed to have run out of energy after 70 mins.

Mary Earps made one good save but had the opportunity to come for the cross for their first goal, then a bit surprising she didn't get a hand to Rachel Daly's lob. Her distribution in the 2nd half was poor.

Our crosses were either superb or absolutely terrible, with nothing in between.

First half generally encouraging. Second half a bit alarming.

Not sure if anyone is interested in stats for WSL but https://fbref.com/en/squads/0bbd83f6/Manchester-United-Women-Stats

We definitely didn't play as well in the second half, but overall still the better team. Really happy for Heath and Press to get their first goals for us, but Press might have to wait a bit longer before she becomes an automatic starter for us, with how well Russo is playing. Definitely our POTM this game.
