Seven points from our last three and it’s mathematically impossible for Arsenal to catch us. Six points and they can draw level, goal difference +10 in our favour at the moment.

Spurs (H)
City (H)
Liverpool (A)

It's about holding our nerve. Think they will after what has happened tonight. The tricky one is City. Make sure they don't lose.

Arsenal still have to go to Chelsea while City's goal difference is significantly worse than ours. Beat Spurs and Liverpool or just draw with City and beat one of them and we will surely make the top 3, it may be that 4 points even with a loss to City would be enough. They should be thinking about the title now they've got through 2 very tough games with 2 wins, aim to win the 3 games and hope Arsenal do them a favour.

CL football and a good budget we should be able to boost this squad even more. It also depend what happens with Battle and Russo.

These girls look like they'll actually do this! If they do, hopefully Russo will feel more inclined to sign

I think Russo could be replaced if the budget was there although obviously it'd be great to keep her, it's difficult to see how this team doesn't get worse if we lose the quality that Batlle provides. She's pretty unique in the attacking output she provides while still being a solid defender.

Skinner has to have more success with his signings though if we do boost the squad, with the exception of Le Tissier they haven't played a ton and some of them don't even get minutes off the bench. There are games like tonight where the midfield isn't working and he won't change it so it's going to be harder to recruit players if they think that the manager won't change things (apart from shuffling his front 3 in the last half hour).

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
What a shame they can’t fill leigh sports village for games like this.
They were at Villa's stadium in Walsall - crowd was over 4000 - not great, but solid progress compared to last year for the Villa team.

LSV crowds are improving steadily. The Arsenal match was sold out but the move to mid-week cost them a couple of thousand in terms of people actually showing up. Earlier in the season we we had a good crowd for the Liverpool match - that was the first time we opened up the North stand (the standing area behind the goal).

Our last home match of the season is against City and that's sold out now. We're getting closer to filling the LSV.

We should!

what the heck, what a game. I saw us come back and win 3-2 in extra time against Arse, and now they do it again! Millie Turner again, from a free kick won by Bø Risa - what subs to make. And Ona Batlle, she is absolutely fantastic.

And finally, the look in Katie Zelem’s eyes when she prepares hitting that free kick. Captain.

Great game of football. Well done ladies. What resilience.
Play Toone wide right now because she’s not creating enough through the middle.
Russo suffering a similar dip in form for me.
Not sure how Mannion starts ahead of Turner.
Villa’s rough tactics kept them in the game but United were relentles.
Batlle, Blundell, Zelem, Ladd, Galton, Parris all class tonight.

yeah, it’s getting better but we need to get to the level where we’re filling it consistently. It would be amazing if in the future we could have our own ground for the womens team. Is there a womens team in europe that has their own small stadium? also I think we should sign daly, she is brilliant!

Not many things better in football than watching Millie buzzin’ after a win.

On current form it doesn’t make sense to drop Galton or Parris for her.

Two goals in her last two games. A brilliant save from the Villa keeper away from making it three in three.

Mannion was simply immense against Arsenal. Player of the match by some distance.

Agree regarding Galton / Parris.

"I don't think my heart can take any more of that!" United manager Marc Skinner told BBC Three after the game. "Look, first half we were not good enough.

"We didn't raise the intensity and Villa were all over us. We played into their hands, we tried to play a style of football rather than the game itself. Second half we addressed that.

"With this team we find a way, and we found a way again tonight."

Bit late to the party, but hey ho.

Another terrific performance and result. The belief is incredible. Despite being a bit off their best, Russo and Toone are still a threat and keep things ticking

We really need to get Batlle's contract sorted - maybe both her and Russo are waiting for confirmation of CL qualification?

I love Millie's infectious enthusiasm ... and sign Daly!

Yeah due to those dropped points in Everton game we can't afford to draw against City if we want to keep pressure on Chelsea
