i was loathe to put this in here what with it being utter shite and not a "sport" but does anyone actually watch this crap? how can so many people pack themselves into an arena to watch a badly-acted "fight" where the outcome is predetermined and no one actually gets hurt?

the mind boggles! <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

it's WWE now.. not WWF anymore..

and it's not exactly sports.. it's sports entertainment.. something Vince McMahon tried to do with American Football (with the XFL if anyone recalls) - he failed miserably at that.

i don't watch the wrestling bit of WWE anymore (i used to be a big big fan since '90 until i finally came to know it was all made up about 5-6 years later).

i still watch it tho.. for the storylines.. it's like series.. once you get addicted it's very hard to stop because you always want to know what happens next.

the wrestling is boring now though.. nothing new anymore.. and since The Rock plans to quit it altogether i doubt the ratings will stay high.

even the Divas of WWE are looking crap nowadays.. there used to be the day when all of 'em just looked so good.. i don't know where they're finding the current diva's though.. their taste in women of have gone down considerably!

and o, btw, they DO get hurt.. it's acting, but it's physical acting.. many of them get badly injured and sometimes get sidelined for months.. the matches are fixed, but the good actors actually hurt each other on stage to make it look real.

What's this? Wrestling isn't real? You must be joking!!

Next thing you'll be telling me there's no Easter Bunny and...and...and that it's really my parents who put money under my pillow when I lost a tooth and not the Tooth Fairy!

I mean, really. The things you kids come out with.

there are actually wrestling schools.. the more acrobatic ones go to these schools... the art of wrestling is "how to punch without touching your opponent and still make him bleed".

It's not often you'll hear a wrestler bleating about it being a sport. Wrestling's always been a highly- charged form of theatre and one that takes considerable skill to master. The results of the matches themselves are for the most part irrelevant.

it has gotten boring somewhat though.. that art of wrestling you are talking about.

I'm sure a lot of people feel my sentiments when I said i only watch it for the made-up storylines because i've become addicted somewhat.

It's the same as those drama series like Beverly Hills 90210 or Melrose Place.. The series themselves were getting extremely boring in their last 2-3 seasons, but they still had people following the show because they've become addicted to it.

I watch it occassionally when I get in pissed.

It's more realistic that way.

I watch it occasionally and Jeez, some of there guys are huge.Scott Steiner actually looks like he has shrunk since 6-7 years back when he was quite tall but now he looks like a little stubby short arse with T.Rex arms with beach balls for muscles.Definitely steroid abuse going on big time there.
I remember reading about an ex Mr Olympian Steve Michalik who according to Arnie had the best physique he had ever seen.He used to take industrial amounts of steroids, used to pay scientists to drain a certain chemical out of monkeys brains and inject it straight into his (either pituitary or hypothalamus gland can't remember which).Which made his body just balloon he had virtually no body fat and the soles of his feet was just skin and bone and had to wear special trainers. He was told he had 4 Cancerous tumours the size of grapefruits on his Liver and was given no hope of survival but an ex NFL player gave him a new fitness regime including 6-7 hours a day in a 180 degree sauna and when the nfl guy seen him in there he said it was something out of a sci-fi film as a thick green foul smelling paste was coming out of every orifice. He now has a clean bill of health.Me thinks many of these guys might have to face this sooner rather than later if they go on.
