I was just surprised to read that Liverpool fans were not as loyal as they claim?

You must be so disappointed!

feck me there are some sad attendances there

20,000 for a home game is pathetic, you should all be ashamed!

Yeah so many scousers on the forum, but yet not one has come on and admitted how pathetic they really are <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

United have had crap attendances at home before (Wimbledon at home a decade or so ago) being a prime example, but unlike some clubs, we admit it and do not pretent it did not happen.

Liverpool fans are everywhere now, yet I genuinley think it is very sad that they can't sell their tickets, are their fans no better than those who follow Southampton and Coventry? Only turning up for the big games? Obviously not, as even UEFA cup final tickets were returned!

It seems that Liverpool's 'treble' was not so brilliant as it has been claimed. If so, would the crowds not have reflected this?

Yeah but Arsenal are a big club, and obviously these stats prove that Liverpool aren't.

Or it could be that their fans can't be arsed to go to Anfailed to watch their 'heroes' and lets face it, if the players were half as good as they claim them to be they'd want to go to games to see them wouldn't they? Instead of making pathetic excuses for their non-attendance (or in this case, maintaining a 'dignified' silence)

And why couldn't Looneypool give some of the local kids a chance to see their heroes then? Great PA. Plus the fact that a full house = better atmosphere = more chance of winning after all.

Well, how can you explain the fact that Liverpool supporters were completley outsang for the majority of the recent game at Anfailed?

Of course, that was until Liverpool started singing their classic 'terrace anthem' to the tune of 'hey baby' and reminded us all that they are about as clued-up as the gimps who support Sheffield Wednesday.

United admit there has been a problem at Old Trafford re: atmosphere and have done something about it in creating a singing end. Liverpool fans keep trying to alude themselves that all is rosy at 'fortress' Anfield, with their half empty stadium and their crowd made up of Liverworld whores.

But the facts remain.....

United fans turn up to Old Trafford in vast numbers whoever we are playing.

Liverpool fans turn up when they play a decent team and are, therefore, not there to see their own team but to see the opposition.

Just like their recent trophies, their supporters are plastic too it seems <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Still doesn't explain why you don't get a full house in several matches - not even close.

Any explanations besides <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> fatty?

You like this one don't you?

Ok, fair dos, you've got a bigger fan base than us...and its grown even bigger over teh last 10 years or so...

How some of you have brought up atmosphere I don't know? Your atmosphere at OT is better than ours is it? Please....

I don't actually mind taking a bit of stick from the likes of FA and Barca on something like this, as it does appear that they go to a fair few matches....

But for those who don't go, slating other teams' fans for not selling out certain games??

Behave

The amtosphere at Old Trafford is much better than it was even a year ago. The club are getting the singers together and the VFC are making things happen.

The atmosphere is getting better every game. People who deny that obviously have never been and are getting their info from watching the tv (as we all know, hardly an indicator of what really happened).

Every game we play against the likes of Southampton, their supporters large it for the first ten minutes then are silent for the rest of the game. Afterwards, they ring phone-ins and say how loud they were and how quiet United fans were. Everyone believes this as it is one of the stereotypes that exist about the club, people do not want to be told otherwise.

United's away support is also a class above the rest :D

Barca99 - Come off it....You can't have been at the game! Every stand had Liverpool singing their lungs out, and not just the John Arne Riise song. The United fans gave a good account of themselves but were fairly quiet after the second goal.

And whats wrong with the John Arne Riise song ? Do you think that singing Ruud Van Nistelroy to the tune of Brown Girl In the ring is clued up ?

I was in the Liverpool end my friend, surrounded by Welshmen with Liverworld bags (Davo? ;) ) who didn't know the players names (bar Owen of course), never mind singing. Yeah there were a few songs sung but they made me cringe, "are you city in disguise", "Riisse" song. and the rest, god I was just waiting for a band to start playing in the Kop as I had more than a little suspicion that this was Hillsbrough, the small-time nature of the supporters seemed to suggest that.

"What is wrong with the Riise song" you ask.... well (if you need to be told...), it is an example of the rent-a-songs that exist in football grounds today. Clubs who have no originality in creating their own songs, all clubs having the same songs. Christ what will be next....

DUUUUUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH LIVERPOOL

As for the Ruud song, it is class, you cannot deny it. However our "Ruuuuuudddd" song (aka a neanderthal grunt aka Leeds scum) is crap.
