Can you believe it??!! It’s a dream come true for Rangers, a bolt from the Blue - The Teddy Bears have only gone and signed Zizou!!
there we all were, listening intently to the Bald One’s explanation of what Materazzi called him on Sunday night when, unbelievably, he uses the same press conference to reveal that life-long fellow Frenchman Paul Le Guen, has persuaded him to come out of total retirement and enter semi-retirement at Ibrox. One last season, in the SPL and the UEFA Cup, will allow Zizou to warm down his career more gently and. he says, hopefully end his career on a more positive note with a UEFA Cup final apperance.
This coming season’s final takes place, of course, at Hampden, the scene of perhaps Zizou’s most memorable goal, scored for Real Madrid in the 2002 Champions League finale. It was also in the 1996 UEFA cup final when ZZ first hit the limelight, playing for the Bordeaux side which lost to the Bayern Munich of Klinsmann, Mathaus etc.
Amazing. Sensational. Fantastique! Magnifique! … and lots of other English words with “-ique” shoved on the end. We knew the Le Guen French connection would work wonders but this is the most amazing signing Scottish Football has ever seen …
