zlatan ibrahimovic & fernando torres

these young bloods are needed at old trafford.
forlan & van nistelrooy is fast but we need a player who is full of pace like i hate to say this but thierry henry is super fast.

thats why we have to buy young striker who is full of pace so we can inject a new game play in the united game where the moves & passes are not as swift or as fast as it used to be.

Heard a lot abt Torres but have never really seen him play though ... The problem of players from Spanish league I think are :

(1) Super expensive ... they always have some hefty buy-out clause
(2) They will think that their La-Liga is the BEST standard currently ... so they might be unwilling to change league... and Ronaldo heading to Spaniard soil hasn't helped at all ..
(3) 9 out of 10 Spaniard players I have read always have some "special feeling" towards either Real or Barca ... which makes their DREAM of playing for one of them ... so they rather stay put in La-Liga and let all the Spaniards see how good they are ... instead of out-of-sight, out-of-mind once they went overseas ...
(4) Any specific examples of Spanish players did brilliantly abroad ? .. seldom I reckon ...

I'd give him a couple of more season in ajax. Has a poor attitude and has only just made it there. Wasn't Mido the main man before he told the press he wants to leave.

I think you kinda answered #4 with #3. None of the very best Spanish players play abroad so it's hardly likely they are going to be a success.

Jose Mari(??) was young when he went to Milan and wasn't very succesful. I think one of the young Valencia players went to Inter a couple of years ago but was only a squad player.

Ummm....Albert Ferrer?? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

15 <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> . That is absurd. He hasn't done anything yet.

he's got great potential IMO.

value? depends on the market... at the mo it seems depressed....players like crespo and nesta went alot cheaper than they would have last year.

Think Zlatan will be swedish footballs biggest dissapointment during the coming 5 years. Ljungberg made it to the top with extreme talent and ALOT of work. He is also a homo so running around in the London nightlife hunting women was out of the question so he could concentrate on the football fully.

Zlatan is different. Hasn't got the head for fame, can improve marginally and then when he will go AWOL. Mind you he hasn't done much yet and he is already a mega star in sweden, mainly because he likes to talk.

I'd like to see us take a chance on Zlatan. But his strength is moving in directions that defenders weren't expecting. Full of pace or super fast he really isn't. If that's what you want, look elsewhere.

Wasn't there another young Swede with great potential - Elmander or something - where's he at?

Think he rejoined a swedish team a month ago or so. Think it was Djurgarden, not absolutely sure.

Hes returned to sweden (djurgården) on loan from Feyenord. saw him play last night and he did ok but the other Djurgården strikers out shone him.
Hes a good player though.

so how old is Elmander? Does he have the potential to ever be a top player?

Can you give me a player who he is comparable to in style?

my guess would be in the mid 20s, think it's too late for him reach the absolute top. Perhaps like Allback, walk the long way through some mediocre dutch sides to a side like villa. Have to admit that I haven't seen him play this year though.

Fecking skinny he is. As tall as me but weighs 10 kilos less and we all know muscles are heavier than fat. So not very strong either. He needs to get hire Hartsons dietist.

So in London homos stay at home alone every evening and concentrate on football? They don't go running around in the London nightlife hunting men? My God, what a small parochial town London must be.

This must explain why Ljungberg hasn't played a half decent game for Sweden for years. Too busy making up for lost time in the vast Stockholm nightlife hunting men.

freddie is more of a hardworking grafter type...Zlatan is different, he has bags of skill...and an ego to match.

(didn't know Ljungberg was fag. )

He hasn't come out of the closet yet. But this is the biggest star sweden has got and and they write about him all the time. But I have never heard that he has had a girlfriend, during what 4 years and I read their 2 tabloids basically every morning in work, this not a tad weird? Well, the only time they linked him to somebody it was a gay singer Peter Joback but freddie denied knowing him <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> . Not that I care, was merely a sidenote here.

So he really does play for the Arse??

Actually, I thought I saw a piece on tv at his home where he had a girlfriend. Could be mistaken though.

When Zlatan is hot there is no one like him, but he still has a tendency to disappear from games now and then. But I think he will become better and better. I think he has played great the last few games for Ajax, both in the league and in the CL. He has also learned to downplay his own role and talk about the team and stuff like that when talking to the press. I reckon Koeman will only sell him if someone offers A LOT of money for him.

Ok I think I know who you are talking abt ... I forget his name though ... but he's a winger ... small but stocky guy ... He's still there in Inter I think ...
And of course we don't need to think too far ... Mendieta in Lazio could be considered one of the best example of Spanish start heading overseas and find things didn't look better than original thought ... Hence I think it'll be difficult to tempt good Spanish players out from La-Liga ...
