Great technical striker...

Seen this video of his skills, outstanding. Do you think he could cut it in the Premiership though? I reckon he'd have a good chance but I'd much rather see Makaay playing for us next season. :(

Aha, someone else whos a fan of Makaay. Welcome aboard ;) . Makaay is probably my first option on who we should buy but i wont get rambling on that.

Ibrahimovic looks strong enough to hold his own and is very pacey, as you point out he is a very technical player. The only problem he holds is i hear he is a bit of a stroppy cnut.

Makaay for me should of been our #1 target this Summer. Some people say he's too old. He's just over one year older than our Ruud. He'd be ideal and he even said he wanted to play for United. What more could you want?

I agree...he is actually 28 and some people have a huge problem with buying strikers in there prime. He would be great for us. Fingers crossed my Makaay loving counter part

;)

VN: Makaay didn't hoof that shot wide, the goalkeeper actually saved it and tipped it out. You only think he shot it wide because the tabloids said so. You just hate all Dutch people.

What are ye talking about Makaay hasnt scored in 82 games, its all made up by the TV Channels who have edited clips. You dirty anti dutch bastard. Your just jealous that Makaay has 3.253 miligrams of milk on his cereal, you hate him for that. Xenophobe, im leaving this board.

I've advocated a move for Makaay all last season, and he did go on to win the golden boot. He can play wide right, although I'd prefer to see Solskjaer given a season in that position since so far he has been excellent. We do need a back-up for Ruud, but can you see Makaay as a squad player? He'll probably go to Bayern. Maybe we should bring in Thomas Christansen as a 4th striker ;) (nb what's happened to Weaste Devil? Not seen him post for a while)

Pacey, Zlatan? Please.

Good technique tho and his attitude isn't that bad. I don't think he'd fit in well with Ruud. To much of an individualist Zlatan, should play as the main striker or not play at all. He would fit in well with Ole tho (i.e. Zlatan-Ole would be a better combination than Zlatan-Ruud IMO).

Doesn't it say something that Ajaks bought Sonck?

I really don't like Zlatan and I did admit that he's improving but he's definetely NOT MU-class...

When Ajaks-players are good, I'm not that stupid to keep saying that they're not good. It doesn't matter that I hate them as an Ajaks-player, it's all about the footballplaying skills...
And Zlatan's are not good enough.

(I even think he's not good enough (yet, coz he's still young) for Ajaks...)

Zlatan looks quite good but is a bit too individual. Would be a problem to play along Ruud as he is the same type of player but obviously not of the same class.

I've only known Mackaay since 2/3 yrs and he is my favourite to partner Ruud. Remember they play together in the Dutch national side. Our frontline wil be awesome with these 2 Dutch masters. A must.

Other alternatives would be Adriano who scores a lot,is very pacy and strong on his feet.

Nihat.

How do you guys rate Viduka? In my opinion,he is a very good striker. Scored 20 goals wih Leeds in the Premiership last season. Very technical, clever player, very strong on the ball. Can he be the ideal partner for Ruud, though I admit he is not quick on his feet.

No, coz they didn't need a replacement for Mido, that's what Koeman said...

agreed viduka has ballskills and he's a good finisher, but for me he plays too far up he field to partner Ruud.
ruud's best is laying on the shoulder of the last man, turning and acting as a pivot for the movement around him.
this is viduka's too imo. would rather have someone with pace, someone smaller and more elusive and Ruud then will create almost as many as he scores.
bellion is a good prospect, if we can harnass that "zip and thunder" he has.
viduka has more of a "roll and tumble" ;)

Yeb and then PSV can be the laugh of the CL once again just like they will be this year. Check this out PSV played 8 times in the CL and they never got further then the first round, Ajax and Feyenoord are the only team's that are getting points so we can participate with more teams in europe, iff it was in hands of PSV, dutch football would be R.I.P. That's why i think the main goal for PSV this year in the CL should be to finish 3th in the group instead of 4th <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Anyway on-topic, i don't think Zlatan is a good player for man.und maybe in the future he will be who knows.

I agree PSV has been shite in Europe. The facts are there. But it's also a matter of bad luck...
If we're worth nothing, why did we f.i. beat MU then? (25 Septembre 2000, 3-1)

Yes you are right, ofcourse PSV is a good team but it's strange that whenever they play in europe that they are nothing more then an avarage team. Bad luck is also an important factor i agree, and i also remember that CL game when PSV played against Bayern Munchen and got raped with that red card dissicion for Waterreus :(

Zlatan has played good last year, his only problem was that he didn't score enough in the league, somehow he's not always focussed against smaller sides. Than he takes things to easy sometimes and he starts doing tricks again, when they're not needed.... In the Champions League he did score quite some goals.. In a year or 2 I think he'll be a great player for United. Strong, good technique and with Marco v.Basten as a coach at Ajax, he's surely going to learn to finish of most chances too.. :)

No, coz they didn't need a replacement for Mido, that's what Koeman said... <hr></blockquote>

And when did Koeman say that? Never! From the moment that Ajax got rid of Mido last year, Ajax has been searching for a replacement! At that time no one, with the right level, was available. Now Sonck is bought.. as a replacement for Mido! And Koeman wants to start with playing Zlatan-Sonck up front asap, but cause of injuries, he hasn't been able to play with both up front till now.. :(

Buying Ibrohimovic is a terrible idea. Okay, the guy's a billionaire, but there's no evidence he'd cut it as a centre-forward...plus he might get jealous, buy Ruud for £100bn and leave him on the bench <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />
