How can a player get a game every three weeks and be expected to perform at his best, it's starting to irritate me.

Why not put more pressure on their crosses rather than conceding them, and put Cleverley on who has been in good match shape the past weeks?

Or am I missing something?

Spot on. Playing Cleverly every other game is of no use to us nor him! FFS, just give him a run of games. I'm still baffled by the decision yesterday of putting jones on for ando!

From set pieces you spastics
Who are we, Stoke? Carrick, Evans, Smalling, Rio, Fletcher were all tall enough to either man-mark or zonal mark. Evra has good leap on him too, so that makes it six players capable of dealing with aerial duels.

A lapse in focus (again) in defence forces us to play an inferior midfielder. This needs to be sorted out.

I assume he was rested so that he can play against Clunge on Wednesday in that all decisive dead rubber match in the CL alongside Nick Powell and Adnan Januzaj, to allow us to play Darren Fletcher, who was so off the pace he's probably still at the Madejski trying to figure out where to pass the ball.

Is there some sort of arrangement in place that makes Old Trafford implode if we ever deploy a working central midfield duo with Rooney in front of them? And if it were, why did this not happen vs Arsenal?

I guess it's got something to do with the unnatural long arms of Carl Jenkinson. I mean look at him, it's like he drags them across the floor while running. fecked if I know really.

fecking brilliant, both Anderson and Cleverley out of the derby then by looks of it. Both the kind of busy player we need in there against them.

He's a bit injury prone this lad, isn't he? Another reliable midfield source in the books!

There goes any chance we had of playing some decent football for the next month or so. I'm definitely glad we didn't buy a cm in the summer, it's really starting to make sense now.

Hope it was just precautionary. He was able to gently jog off the pitch.

He doesn't look in pain too much tbf, he was running normaly before he was substituted, let's hope it's just precuatation.

Didn't look too serious an injury he was moving ok and could still do the long pass, probably just a precaution.

Definitely seemed like a precautionary substitution more than anything, hopefully he'll still make the bench for the derby.

Looked a precaution - but factor in that he's a United player and we're looking at two months out minimum :(

Hope Fergie took him off as he was starting to create some real chances and we're hoping Cluj hold on for a draw and sneak past the Turks.

feck sake, just when we get our defenders back, we lose two midfielders. We've had no luck whatsoever with injuries over the past couple of years, really really frustrating!

He was quite poor, but as I said in the Anderson thread after the last couple of CL games, I don't judge our players when players with a makeshift team in the CL.
Jesus!! All our decent chances came through him in the first half, Rooney shot/lob and the Hernadez clean through.
