I've never, for one minute, ever thought he'd be a United first-teamer to be honest. As always, happy to be proven wrong, but have my doubts.
May not be a player to which many say that he deserves a first team chance, but this guy definitely does. I sure hope he comes back in January and fights with Nani, Young and Valencia for a place. It would not surprise me if he can achieve a future with us. Very intelligent player.
Very very few from the reserves make it at the top level... So them not making it is always the safer bet..
A lot can go wrong.. even if they have the talent. Injuries, doing a Morrison, doing a Pogba... or even someone witha lower profile like a Fryers.

I think the possibility of him breaking into the Ireland team will only help his chances with us. He'll be a premiership footballer either way...
Aye. I have no doubts he can play PL football, albeit he might find it difficult to establish himself with us with the players in front of him.
Im just happy from an Irish football point of view. Id love to see him make it at united but even if he doesnt he'll have a sound footballing basis from our academy. I agree with others that hes premiership standard.

I can't see him managing to get a career at United. He definitely has the quality to play PL football alright. Good for Ireland anyway.
He has to bee something of a longshot to make it here, but no more so than Cleverley was.
True - but Cleverley was outstanding on his lone-deal. Probably one of the players of the season in the Championship.

i'd like to tag on to the second half of it as well if i may. it's curious to me how there are players that are seen week in/week out at Reserve/U21 level, who then go out on loan, do modestly well...and then end up as a perennial Football League player (not necessarily in the Championship either!) when there's a host of people like the collective us who really know and feel they can/should be playing in the PL.
i bring this up simply because i feel there are English/British (and Irish...) players who have the talent and desire to play at the highest level, but are continually being cast aside for 'cheaper' more 'proven' imports.
frustrating for those who share a passion for youth football and watching such a progression.

Brady has being playing left-wing back and impressing. I hope he stays to see him get a chance to play there for us. I think that would be his best chance of breaking into our first team.

To be honest I was never convinced he was a first-team player myself. More James MaClean level than Gareth Bale potential I reckon. The bar is just really high nowadays for a club like ours. If we step back and look at this in black and white, he's a 20 year-old international winger, who has been out of the reserves for nearly two years now, and valued at £2m. We are debating in other threads whether Wilfried Zaha - same age and playing at the same level, is good enough for us. And he's a £10m player at least.
Kings contract was running out this summer and the rumour was that he wasn't going to sign a new one. I have never thought that Brady looked good enough. He might become a decent Premier League player but he look too limited for United, 2.5m would be an excellent price for him.
Heard that Everton expressed an interest in him recently. Id imagine theres a few healthy add ons to this deal from a United point of view.
