Don't sign old players and cast offs
Let us rejoice at that news.

Obviously there would have been many selfish people in the country if she had never existed, but at least they might have seen it as a fault.
No other person has done more to promote selfishness and greed in my lifetime.

She divided a nation, bit like this current coalition party,so views on her will be mixed.

Despite the majority on this forum probably about to post good riddance to her, her achievements should not be underestimated at the same time.

RIP Maggie.
I try not to speak ill of the dead,
So I think it's best if I stay out of this thread.

Look, working class people are going to hate her, and that have every right too.

However, to wish death on somebody is still disgusting in my opinion.

I hated her political views, her actions, and her personality, and I find her passing no sadder than any other human being that will die today, however I'm not happy she died.

Editing my own posts.
Something vaguely disturbing about watching a bunch of people celebrating the death of an old woman
Agreed.

Especially so with those who didn't live under her rule or weren't directly affected by the worst of her policies, but will nevertheless parrot some form of death celebrating vitriol.

The woman was a nasty politician, but not a bogey man.

Nice of you to speak behalf of all working class people. Loads(obviously not all, and not necessarily even a majority) consider her to be the greatest post-war PM.

Forgive my ignorance but why was she so hated?
For lot's of things, I think the Poll Tax was her big boo-boo probably, but the left saw her as a warmongering old battleaxe who didn't care for the working class etc., I think she was probably most popular just as the Falklands war began but I wasn't around so I don't know.

Well said, in the grand scheme of things this is pretty insignificant.

RIP Thatcher. I can only hope everyone is respectful about this, though looking at a few of the posts in this thread already, it won't happen.

Lets do a poll then, and I can guarantee you that the VAST majority of working class people will hold severe disdain for Thatcher.

There are a lot of people who hate Thatcher, I just don't think you, as someone who didn't even experience her policies first hand given you a)weren't alive and b) don't even live in the right country can really speak on behalf of others.

Yeah didn't think about this, can't really imagine United fans chanting about her though?
