The game, sponsored by Kagome, the club’s official partner in Japan, will take place on 23 July at The Nissan Stadium in Yokohama and the team is looking forward to being welcomed by some of United’s 4million Japanese followers.
Kagome, along with match promoters Disk Garage, invited Manchester United to play in Yokohama. This match will be an exciting opportunity for Japanese fans to watch the Reds play against one of Japan’s best football teams.
Manchester United chief executive David Gill said:
"Manchester United has great memories of playing in Japan and our game against the Yokohama F· Marinos will play an important part of our pre-season preparations. The Nissan Stadium is one of the best in the world and Manchester United has a connection with it, having become the first English team to win the FIFA Club World Cup there.

Good stuff. It will be interesting to see not only what Moyes does with him (hopefully straight into #10, especially since Rooney isn't on tour), but how it affects the youngsters who so far have been playing in Shinji's various positions (Januzaj and Lingard, chiefly). I've not been massively impressed with Giggs so far (some very good stuff, but also lots of losing the ball, dawdling for too long etc), and we probably shouldn't overuse him in tiring friendlies anyway, so possibly he should be the one to lose out to Kagawa when he does get involved.

Trio join team in Japan

Ashley Young and Chris Smalling have arrived in Japan to join the Manchester United tour party.
The duo flew out to Yokohama on Sunday for the remaining three games of Tour 2013 presented by Aon.
David Moyes confirmed earlier this week that the pair, both recovering from injuries sustained last season, had been making good progress back at the Aon Training Complex. They will now continue that work with their team-mates in Asia.
Shinji Kagawa has also joined the squad in his homeland, having been given some extra time off following his exertions for Japan in the recent Confederations Cup. Moyes now has 23 players at his disposal for the games against Yokohama F·Marinos (23 July), Cerezo Osaka (26 July) and Kitchee FC (29 July).

Oh and while we are at it I want to play against Police Machine FC I heard they are quite good and beat some other team 67-0 or so that would be a worthy pre-season test.

That is great news regarding Smalling and Young. I think if Young would prove a lot of people wrong if he stayed fit for the entire season. He was very good at Villa and can be a solid squad player for us.

The F stands for Flügels.

Yokohama F-Marinos is what became of Yokohama Marinos and Yokohama Flügels when the two clubs merged in 1999.

San is just a polite "Mr". It's not really opposite of kun, san is simply the most common way to address someone older.
