That's a bit shite. I rate Walcott and at least it would mean there is less chance of Milner starting.

Welbeck and Sturridge both have to play anyway. Their vaguely matching hairstyles demand it

Whilst it's kind of sad, I can't help but laugh after his little moment with the Spurs fans...not that I have some soft spot for them or anything.

Very bad news for arsenal and England. He's better than Townsend and just as good as Sturridge, could have been a valuable player at the WC.

Walcott would have definitely started in the World Cup.

Say what you want about him, but he scores important goals. He's a big game player and he's so efficient. 5 goals since he's come back and assists with them.

Shame, he was looking good this season too and seems like a nice enough lad.

He would not have definitely started, that's rubbish. A contender too for sure, and I'd pick him over Townsend, but who knows with Woy.

Christ that's bad. I wondered as he went down that a serious injury would rule him out of the World Cup but thought it wouldn't be too bad as he was smiling etc. We were never going to win the World Cup anyway but that's a blow for our progress.

The injury yesterday really didn't look that bad  Sucks for him, he was playing really well since he came back.

Is that the sort of injury that could potentially affect his pace, long term?

Would be devastating for him, if so.

Not great for their chances in the league or champions league either. Was hoping they would win the league ahead of City and Chelsea, as I expect most would be.

Wonder, if it'll force Arsene to buy an attacker in January. Diego Costa is apparently available.

From an England perspective, Walcott has never done it for me. He's always been somewhat effective for Arsenal but really doesn't fit into the England set up and hasn't done anything of note for the most part of his international career.

It's sad that he's out for so long but I don't think it really changes anything other than a guaranteed squad place for Townsend.

The saddest part is that Milner is guaranteed starts despite being completely undeserving.
