From an England perspective, Walcott has never done it for me. He's always been somewhat effective for Arsenal but really doesn't fit into the England set up and hasn't done anything of note for the most part of his international career.

It's sad that he's out for so long but I don't think it really changes anything other than a guaranteed squad place for Townsend.

The saddest part is that Milner is guaranteed starts despite being completely undeserving.
Or god forbid, Ashley Young. Woy should stick with a front three of Sturridge, Rooney and Welbeck. They seem to play pretty well together.

Unlucky for him. For Arsenal at least they can go sign someone now if they feel they need to

That's possibly the worst news a pacey player can ever receive, he won't be smiling now that's for sure.
He will do well not yo loose the edge off his pace permanently, sickener for England and terrible terrible news for Arsenal at exactly the time it will hurt the most.

Although Townsend was decent enough in those last two qualifiers his form for Spurs hasn't exactly been stellar. A tad one dimensional too.

England lost a fair bit of pace from the team with Walcott absent.

Does that mean Lallana is a cert to go then? I remain to be convinced about him for England.

Oh no i've just had a horrible horrible thought, Milner on the wing. AHHHHHH!!

Shouldn't have been such a twat then, should he.
Very harsh.

Really unlucky for him. Seemed to be hitting his top form too. Is it a recurring injury or a new one?

Sterling to the rescue for England. The only winger they currently have who hasnt been found out as one dimensional. He is only 19 so he has plenty of time.

I would highly doubt it, Roy will only start so many young up and coming players [Barkley and maybe Wilshere].

JMO though.

What is it with England and world cup year? Normal years you might get a few injuries but Euro 2012 about a third of the squad ended up being lost through injury. One down already with six months to go!

When's Oxlade-Chamberlain meant to be back? He was pretty poor last year, hopefully he can rediscover form. He's pretty much a certainty to go along with Townsend and Milner, in which case there may be one winger spot between Lallana/Lennon/Young/Sterling. Although as Welbeck often plays on the left for England, and actually plays well there most the time, they may just go for 5 strikers instead, or an extra centre-mid.

From what I've read on Twitter, it's not as serious as it could have been and it probably won't do him any long term damage.
Hope that's the case.

Don't think I'd wish that on any player. Certainly not one who comes across as a decent guy.

Rooney's been playing through some knocks all year. Bound to pick something up at the worst possible moment.
That metatarsal has been intact for too long now. He used to be the master of that one.

I genuinely worry about us if that happens. Less-so England because England will be shit with or without him.

He's alienated himself, if he didn't gloat like a twat then he'd be getting a lot more sympathy.
What are you on about? Fans give it all match, there's nothing wrong with a bit of banter back. Shame the Spurs fans are so touchy.

That's a big shame. He's the kind of player where you feel injuries might take their toll more quickly than most. He's not so talented that he can afford to lose his pace.

Some people just fall onto the ignore list so easily.
Why are you taking it so personally? What would you have me do, send him flowers? He's been unlucky with his injury, but why should I sympathise, even even empathise with him? You do realise there's people in this world with actual problems? It doesn't affect my life in any way.

Very bad news for arsenal and England. He's better than Townsend and just as good as Sturridge, could have been a valuable player at the WC.
He's faster and that's about it. Sturridge is comfortably better than Walcott.

Let's all feel sorry for the millionaire footballer with a bad leg eh.
Yeah, why not when it's his job to play football and he is prevented from doing that in the biggest tournament of them all? It is a shame that something completely out of his control has prevented that opportunity and you don't know what will have happened to him in 4 years time that may mean World Cup 2010 is his last.

You've got a chip on your shoulder and you have some growing up to do. I suggest you wind your neck in. If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.
