Doubt we'll get many takers at £15 million unless Fellani has an amazing World Cup.

Losing Fellaini (despite he's uselessness) is a strange move unless we are bringing in 2/3 midfielders.. why weaken an already weak position?

It honestly seems Moyes' plan was to try and sign the best players and expect them all to play well together without having to worry about systems/tactics

Its called being a good manager and giving your team the best chance of success. When your best defender is Ron vlaar then you have no choice but to build a fortress around that fragile defense. No one complained when Holland played boring and negative football when they got to the final in 2010.

As I said in the Sanchez thread, he prefers Juventus but Barca will sell to the highest bidder, and I'm sure United can outbid Juventus both in terms of transfer money and wages.
He won't prefer Juventus once his pal Vidal signs for United too

We are most likely to sign two midfielders, and don't forget we'll be playing once a week.

Barcelona are having a huge clear out. Sanchez, Fabregas, Song, Alves, Pedro are all expected to be sold.
Ah ok we should look at getting Pedro too if that's the case I think he's a great player.

The main 'embarrassment' is the fact he left on a free not long ago and it's clear something went on and he doesn't exactly have the right attitude. The BIG embarrassment is if we were to sign him knowing he will feck off in a couple more years again when he wants more money, or run his contract down and move for big money.
I think people need to get over it already. All that went on was that he didn't ever play for us and we undervalued him as a player. He went to somewhere that did give him game time and did value him. I don't want to go over this for the millionth time but SAF said himself that if he didn't play him he would leave and that is what happened. Was Ronaldo going to Madrid "embarrassing"? I honestly wouldn't even care if he was only here for a few years because if we sold him on we would probably make a profit. I'd rather see him in our midfield for two seasons than a lifetime of Cleverly and Fellaini. People need to realise that not every player is going to be Ryan Giggs. Look at what we put up with in Rooney ffs.

Exactly, it's a moot argument, considering a solid defence was what brought them to the final 4 years ago. My heart still aches when I think of that Robben miss in the final :(

I think he is a good player, just not a United player and doesn't suit our playing style, a bit like Moyes to be honest. (Fellaini that is)

Why would Barcelona want both Pedro and Sanchez out? I'm assuming the latter may leave but seems daft to let both go when Pedro is a local lad too.

They need money to bring in a top CB and to replace Fabregas with a midfielder that suits their playing style better. Neymar's transfer and Messi's new contract didn't cost peanuts. They also need to get all their transfers done in preparation for this upcoming season as well as the one after because of the transfer ban.

I wait for the day in this transfer window when a tweet on this thread actually confirms a signing. I am addicted this thread expecting an update of some good news when i see a further 6 pages on it just to find the same old guff being spun albeit with a different name each time.

How reliable El Confidencial are?
Are those Moyes quotes real? I also saw one about Pogba.
The guys needs to shutup about our transfer targets, although I am hoping these are fake quotes.

"We will try to bring Pogba in. We hope that a player of Pogba's quality would want to play for Manchester United. He's a big lad and he's good in the air and has a great chest."

I kinda wish now that we could have kept Moyes a bit longer, just until he had signed Pogba, Fabregas, Kroos and Shaw. Then let Van Gaal come in after the WC.

;-)

I kinda hope we don't buy anyone despite losing Rio and Vida and Van Gaal does what Moyes couldn't do and manages this squad back into the Champions League.

Moyes also said in the Sunday Times that he enquired about Koke and Cavani was possibly the hardest working striker he's seen.

Why would Jose care because arsenal I don't think will pocket that much from the sake of Fabregas.
Why would he want a rival benefitting financially? If Arsenal got £12m from them for Fabregas they could spend it on strengthening themselves despite not weakening like a team usually does when they recurve a transfer fee.

We are being heavily linked with Shaw, Sanchez and either Pogba or Vidal. Now they are the type of player we need to get back to where we want to be. They are only reports but it's looking promising.

He went by the name of Wayne Rooney

Can't the guy just shut up? The club really should have put in a clause in his compensation clause that prevented him from speaking about our transfer targets till this window was over.

I would love to see this happen, it won't though of course, as Woody knows he'll be fired if we don't bring players in.

No matter who he tried to buy, he'd still be a shit defensive manager who was never fit to grace Old Trafford.

If arsenal are due a portion of any profit made by selling Fabregas to Chelsea, then it'll be minimal.

There's talk of a 50% sell on fee. If you think about it it's entirely possible. He was returning to them at the age of 24, I don't think anyone expected anything other than him playing for them well into his 30's and to push the deal through they could have accepted that demand from Arsenal.

Other than his energy/workrate am I the only one who thinks Ramirez is average? Average passer, not the best technique, rash in the tackle.
I totally agree. Also my mates who are Chelsea fans havw referred to him as 'a headless chicken' and 'bambi on ice numerous times'. Ramires can be effective but he's a very limited player.

So when your Chelsea mates used phrases such as "Headless Chicken" or "Bambi On Ice", they were referring to Ramires, not Luiz?

Ramires is better than any CM we have at our club.

Still, Chelsea would be potentially denying Arsenal 2-3 million. To me it seems that Chelsea want to buy him on the cheap and save money themselves, rather than deny Arsenal a fee or 2-3 million.
