What a performance! Robben was fantastic. I have a feeling Spain could get eliminated in the group.

Can't get over how amazing Holland were. Utterly sensational. They've started tournaments well before like in Euro 2008 but nothing like that. Serious contenders to win it now.
Their defence is too weak and that will show sooner or later (it already did today but Spain was just too bad to exploit it), not to mention that any injury/suspension to Robben/RvP would be lights out for them. They are certainly able to reach the semis or maybe even the final but imo they simply don't have the (defensive) stability or squad depth to win it.

Crikey. Had to work a long day and missed the game. Judging by the highlights, I missed a cracker. Can't believe that Casillas would drop so many bollocks. First he gifts Atletico a goal in Lisbon and now this. I still think they'll be there or thereabouts but this is a real shocker.

Cant base it on one performance.
I know you can't. But this year I don't see a real favourite team to win it and for me that's been highlighted even more by Brazil and Spain's opening performances - two of the favourites. Now I know we haven't seen Argentina or Germany yet but Holland have given the best performance and made the biggest statement so far and as I said I don't see any team as really being favourites so I think I'm going to go with them. However I will revise and withhold my prediction until after I've seen every teams first game.

What a game. Not been excited about my own team for quite a while now, winning when you're underdogs is so, so much better.

I am afraid that Dutch will do what they do so often, start brilliantly, then get tired as the tournament goes, and drop and fate somewhere between QF and Finals... although personally, I would love to see Germany - Netherlands finals, and I hope I am wrong.

Shit, I knew this would be an amazing game and I had to be at work....
I was talking to another person in their office trying to pass time until 5 and my brother texted me "holy shit are you watching this?" I get back to my desk in time to see 5-1.

Best thing about this all is the fact that now we avoid Brazil in the 2nd round if we win 1 more match (given Chili won't win all 3). On the other hand i'd laugh my fecking ass off if we'd face brazil and give them a 5-1 beating at home also haha.

If we make it to be 1st, then Croatia or Mexico is up next which will be no problem. I can see us coming far in this tournament i've always said that, but through the "chelsea" way. But then again i forgot we had Louis.

Netherlands were good tonight ,but we were so damn bad tbh , I dont think Netherlands will go far in this competition. We won the important game though , 4 years ago ,a night of July 2010.. and I can die peacefully because of that game. Bring the haters of Spain though ! it's always fun to read them ,specially when they support crap teams. But GG to Netherlands , they were obviously the better side tonight , I just doubt Robben will perform that well again in the remaining games.

Haha but they will be remembered as legends forever!

And at the childish spain guy, kind of pathetic to say that we support a crap team just cuz you lost and many people are sick of spains dominance.

Fyi that crap team jusy destroyed you with an embarassing 5-1 score. If we are crap what does that make of you?

Lol Casillas was so bad in the CL final aswell, Ramos saved Casillas ass that night ..
I was genuinely gutted when Casillas was ruled out of the CL tie when we played Madrid a few years back. Lopez pulled some amazing saves in both legs.
