Not sure about that but suddenly a cracked vertebra doesn't sound quite so painful.
He must be a relieved man now, atleast he won't be crucified by the media. But the whole display by the brazil NT and staff regarding his injury was really cringeworthy.ewww.They missed thiago silva more than any one else, atleast even if they would have lost it must have been by a small margin, not like this.

and to think people, its not over yet...they've still to play Argentina or Holland!

Personaly I hope and I think it'll be Argentina! Has the perfect write up for it now, Argentina to beat them on home soil. Everyone was thinking that'd be the final in a perfect world cup.

The two best international teams currently are probably Germany & Holland (best qualifying record in Europe) so it makes sense for it to be an Euro final.

Even if its not Argentina they play, I can still see Holland winning by 3 or 4!

PSG forum is interesting this morning.

Not been a single post in their David Luiz thread since the game started last night.
In their match thread for the game one guy is laughing at him, but the rest are blaming it on the rest of the team saying that he didn't get any help! Got to love loyalty/heavily tinted specs for your club players

The Blame should fall firmly at the feet of Scolari for this capitulation, a result of an extremely poor squad selection when you think of the players he left out.

Lucas Moura
Coutinho
Miranda
Felipe Luis
Alexandre Pato
Ronaldinho

Also the Diego Costa situation and trusting David Luiz to lead by example, Luiz needs someone beside him that'll reign him in instead Scolari hands him the keys to the fort, madness!

Spot on, this!!

Utterly shambolic situation...

We've just had a season of a clueless manager and it seems Big Phil has about as much idea as the dithering Davy!

As one of my mates posted on FB last night..."the only way this could get worse for brazil now is if they have Moyes lined up to do the post match presser"

I found it hilarious that alot of the brazilian players prayed after the game. If something the result should be a hint that at least God (doesn't exist) doesn't care if they win or lose. But no, they probably blame the loss on something bad they did a few weeks ago instead of their god-awful performance.

"We just like the way Germany play - all the creative goals and all the great passing they do," said Breno Antunes, one of the scores of police officers keeping watch over the bus and players on the short journey to the ferry. "If Brazil's not in the World Cup anymore, at least there's one team still in it that play like Brazil."

That one quote says so much...

Found the pictures of the crying supporters really upsetting, especially the kid. Totally understand how he was feeling, I use to sit in my seat and bawl, even at draws. That eventually had to come to an end when my son said it was embarrassing him.

Not seriously, but I did feel bloody sorry for them.

I'm fairly certain losing a game of football wouldn't displace someones faith... I'd have guessed that much is obvious.

If anything, they probably do blame the performance soley on themselves, and are asking God to make them stronger or something...

or in David Luiz case, praying to any deity that his contract has officially been signed off!

Even though it was John Terry it was understandable imo cause he missed the most important penalty for his team. But I don't think it's a natural decision to go to an interview like Luiz if you're completely upset and even crying. You try to disappear into the dressing room after a match like that.
Maybe he felt the need to apologize, because they let their whole nation down. I wouldn't blame him because of that.

Pato is rubbish, Ronaldinho is miles past it and would've made the squad even worse, they have a wealth of players like Coutinho as well.

Miranda, Luis and Moura should all have gone. Moura over Hulk.

I'm half glad that we lost, I really really hope this revolutionizes our football. Much better than losing 2-1 or some shit. We have one of the shittiest domestic leagues for our potential, our youth levels in the hands of agents
13 year old kids getting double digit salaries and using agent leverage against the club.. "Pelé Law" destroyed clubs
I remember the NBA put salary caps on young players, when team USA lost in 02,04,06..

Brazil used to be everyone's second team, now we have trouble filling up the craven cottage, of course, who the feck wants to watch Paulinho, Fred etc
Excuse me if I'm wrongt but wasn't it you who said that the Brazilian leagues is good that no one over there cares about European football?

Brazil are shit and finally a team strong enough found them out. Silva's loss was huge but i'm glad those cheaters were put to the sword. Huge smiles all around.

If there's any sympathy I do feel for Luiz cos he's had a decent WC up to yesterday.

Germany have scored 61 World Cup goals since 2002 out of all the "big" teams.

1. Germany - 61
2. Brazil - 48
3. Argentina - 31
3. Spain - 31
5. Holland - 27
6. Portugal - 24
7. Italy - 23
8. France - 20
9. England - 17

Other than Brazil they have nearly scored double the next highest Spain and Argentina, Klose on 16 goals is just one behind England and 4 behind France, quite unbelievable.

2002 World Cup
France - 0
Germany - 14
Holland - 0
England - 6
Italy - 5
Brazil - 18
Argentina - 2
Spain - 10
Portugal - 6

2006

France - 9
Germany - 14
Holland - 3
England - 6
Italy - 12
Brazil - 10
Argentina - 11
Spain - 9
Portugal - 7

2010

France - 1
Germany - 16
Holland - 12
England - 3
Italy - 4
Brazil - 9
Argentina - 10
Spain - 8
Portugal - 7

2014

France - 10
Germany - 17
Holland - 12

Brazil - 11
Argentina - 8

Respect to the Brazilians. They really do love the game even more than their home team, apparently.

I really dislike this Brazil team and the general media love in with all things concerning Brazil football and hoped the'yd get battered at some point. An unpleasant team with a sense of entitlement as though wearing the yellow shirt and being on home turf meant they were destined to win this thing. When they started to get ripped apart though I was reminded of Holmes vs Ali when Ali was way past his prime and already neurologically damaged. Holmes was asking for it to be stopped as he didn't want to punish the great man anymore and when the fifth went in last night I thought of that moment - even the Germans looked faintly embarassed.

All my hopes rest on Argentina and Holland now. But I just don't see Germany letting this slip now. And to be fair, their performances over the last tournaments probably deserve a trophy.

Well tbh I was including Pato to replace Jo and Ronaldinho for Hernanes as options from the bench to offer something different, Brazil only really ave Oscar in there who can split a defence like Coutinho, add to that his workrate, pressing and dribbling and he's a far better option than some of the other midfielders in that squad.

Pato to replace Jo would be fine I guess, Ronaldinho for Hernanes...meh I'd prefer Hernanes. Ronaldinho is done, totally done.

Coutinho, sure he could be in the squad but its hardly something that changed the tournament. Squad selection wasn't the reason, bar a few iffy choices it was the best squad possible.

I think if you lose the way Brazil did it's because of bigger factors than individual quality. I had the impression that all that hype and pressure came back to haunt them after the goal. They also seemed a bit unorganized in their approach one or two players don't change that.

Yeah, it was surreal. And disorganised is being kind to them. I've never witnessed such shambolic defending, for such a big stage. The CB's were literally nowhere.

The marking for the first goal? Muller, probably the German's most potent attacker was just left alone to sidefoot a corner into the net, almost inside the 6 yard box  You couldn't make it up.

Then for the 2nd, while the Germans are strolling through their defence, I thought I was hallucinating when I saw Luiz just stand there, and not even bust a gut to try and get back into position/follow Muller.

....& that's just the first 2 goals

It was astonishing how disorganised they were. Especially as Scolari has built/moulded this team around being hardworking, physical and defensively sound.
