Incredibly average bunch of individuals I see. Not one name in that teamsheet excited me. But feck me they played worse than I thought they would.

I'm not having a go at Cleverley as plenty of people will be ripping the lad apart. However can someone please explain why he puts a little chip on short passes? I've played football in national tournaments etc obviously at a lowish level but never have I seen anyone pass like that. Seems odd that they haven't knocked it out of him

To be fair when Shaw, Rafael, Rojo (hopefully), and Evans start playing, that's a very different and considerably improved defence. But we badly need a DM before the end of the window and preferably a really world class CB too.

Said it before but really think if the eleven isn't fit the 352 only serves to highten our weaknesses.

    Valencia - defensively absolutely SHIT
Young - right winger playing left wing back - enough said
Blackett - terrible on the ball
    Fletcher - Terrible everywhere
Cleverly - awful passing but at least looking to be a bit positive
Rooney, vp, mata - not given a chance by our poor midfield
Blackett has done ok and looks decent in the ball. And where the feck has Cleverley looked positive? Him and Fletcher are a shambolic excuse for a midfield. Weakest pairing since we played Rooney and Rio there. I actually would prefer Catermole and Rodwell to Clev and Fletch now.

    Horrendous.

We just can't get Rooney, Mata, RVP into the game and when we do they are shite as well. We don't even look like scoring

Mentioning Cleverley alongside Fletcher today is really unfair to Clev, he looks like Xavi compared to Fletcher judging on first half.

People need to get a grip. We're not going to see overnight improvement. What we have to watch is the determination of the players. If the attitude is shown well today, then the future will improve. But if we roll over like a dead horse, then we have serious problems.

Hopefully people on here will start to understand Cleverley is useless and Fletcher bang average. Too much love for these two. Team display shockingly slow, itsall well and good adapting to a new formation but some of our playing staff are terrible whatever formation they are playing. Get Kagawa on for Cleverley and Adnan for Young.
Praying Di Maria is not coming alone or watching this mess!
I will take a draw right now.

Fletcher just does not look right imo, touch is not there, he's managed to play a simple pass to one of their players.Whenever the middle defender comes out with the ball both midfielders go fecking missing which is irritating to say the least.

Got to be a draw at least today lads.

Fletcher and Cleverley has 90 and 92 % pass completion. Stats, fecking hell...

Fletcher and Cleverley???? It's not as if they are playing against very good midfielders and both of them are getting time on the ball too.

    Holy. Shit.

Cleverley and Fletcher is absolute shite, aren't they? I mean, Fletcher can't even recieve a pass and take it with him. He looked very promising in pre-season, what happened? Also, Cleverley - what can you say? This lad has nothing to do on the pitch. If we dont reinforce the midfield it wont matter how many Di Marias we buy. No creativity at all in our midfield, hopefully Cleverley gets sold to a league 2 team where he can play against equal skill.

Our midfield is getting absolutely getting shredded by Sunderland. Lets hope we can avoid relegation this year lads.

Not sure I have seen such a poor performance as today from Fletcher. With young and valencia, they don't have the ability to cope with any defensive responsibilities at all, especially Valenica. Jones has bailed him out loads today.

Fletcher is not helping us at all. Cleverley is trying to do the right thing but isnt capable :/ need new central players.
You could be forgiven for not even knowing Flertcher was on the field... and what the hell hgas happened to Mata's ability to pass (or was it only AGAINST us that he looked good?!)

But cmon guys... Have faith in the system. Of course it ain't running perfect at this state of the implementation, but when it does, it's gonna be fun..
I reckon, that at this time, with below acceptable passing accuracy, it's not something to be proud of..
But you're just giving up to easy.
Its not the system. Its the players, well some of them. Even if Sunderland went down to 9 men, the likes of Valencia will still be shocking.

What were you expecting when he has not had any pre season. That's the problem when you play in an international side that does well at the world cup.
You have a point but maybe we should have given Welbeck a chance this game if that's the case. If the story is true that we are letting him leave today is a good day to showcase him.

I hate to say this but Fletcher has gone. Surely our academy has a midfielder in there with more ability than this.

Huge game this, need to somehow get the win. Get some positivity going.

    We are basically playing.....

    --------------:annoyed:-------

We are easily in the top 3 worst midfield in PL(and maybe even Defense).
    That is spot on.

Huh? Could have been better, but saying that was one of the worst hands you have seen clearly shows you didn't watch football last year
Considering how many miss hit passes/miscontrols we saw in the first half was laughable for professional footballers. Particularly when they were under very little pressure. We looked ok when we got in the final third without creating any chances, but beyond that looked shaky.

RVP's looking so slow and predictable at the moment and has been for the past 12 months, I'm praying his injuries haven't finally ruined him. 3-5-2 doesn't have a future either, I don't think it's worth us twisting our team about so much just so we can get Rooney and RVP playing together..

Our central midfield is diabolical. Sunderland have a better central midfield than we do. Sunderland.

On last season's form, Carrick isn't much better than the two out there.

We have Ander to come back in, but we clearly need another midfielder to help him and to cover him if he's injured
We need more than one to be honest. I used to think Cleverley and Fletcher could be good squad players to have but I'm even starting to doubt that now.
