I don't think I've ever had less idea of what to expect in a match.

We have only Rojo, Blackett and Evans to select from at CB, so I wouldn't be surprised to see us line up in a 4-3-3. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see us stick with the 3-5-2.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another moribund performance with United losing. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see United play beautiful football and run away with the match.

De Gea and Di Maria are the only certain starters. The rest of the team is a mystery.

This match will be a revelation no matter what.

    What you think about 3-3-3-1

Di Maria have space for run, speed, croos and magic - right side the same thing
There will be no congestion on final part of pich, we stretch.
In defence we have covered every inch.
Perhaps it is an ideal for the fast transformation TO 4-3-3
    Smoling lol

but seriously I'm not even sure this would work on fifa :x

Would not expect too much of this game as the team needs time to get the chemistry going. 1 point would be a good catch from this game.
The individual brilliance of Di Maria and Falcao and the confidence they will bring to the team might lead to a very good result. Wishful thinking of course.

Because it looks like you want us to play like a girl with big knockers and no booty. You know football is a physical game, the team will easily be pushed aside before we have a chance to hit with the big knockers. Its better to have a bit of a phat ass, Not necessarily like the big phat one we have now as we are too slow to move it towards the goal to score.

Smalling is available! I agree we should go to a back 4, but Smalling is available if need be!

    Rafael is fine as well.

I think LVG will go for an attacking 3-5-2. If Jones is injured we can put Smalling in instead. Blind can act as cover for the left back if necessary since he plays that position in Ajax. Smalling/Jones then would be slotted as a make shift right back with Rojo and Evans as center halves

Hopefully we get the full information in the next presser, but right now the injury list would look likely to include:

    Smalling
    Jones
    Shaw
    Herrera
    Carrick
    Fellaini?
    Lingard?

I think this should almost force us into playing a back four of Rafael, Evans, Blackett, and Rojo. Di Maria will probably have to join Blind in central midfield, as I doubt LvG will want to play Fletcher and Blind against QPR - way too negative. I'd rather Di Maria on the wing, but this would let us play Mata in the middle and also play all of Rooney, Falcao and van Persie from the start.

    de Gea
    Rafael Evans Blackett Rojo
    Blind
    Di Maria Mata
    van Persie Falcao Rooney
    --
Amos; James; Fletcher, Valencia, Young, Januzaj; Wilson

I'd expect a few players to be back from that list though, probably Smalling at least who I'd start.

Why not give Shaw his intro and put Rojo in for Blackett? Herrera is available, so why not start him instead of Mata or at least on the bench?

Call me overly optimistic, but I can't see how we don't smash QPR at Old Trafford by 3 or more goals. We're gonna slaughter them. Falcao scores a brace.

Mata can't be a RwB. He can't even do basic tracking back.

Agreed. Just wondering what I would have felt about a face to face between Rio and Falcao a year ago. Possibly shit in my pants. :annoyed:

Sounds overly optimistic given our recent form but something has to give, a team is due a hiding and if van Gaal maybe (hopefully) adopts a formation to get the best out of our attacking talent then Qpr will be battered and confidence restored.
Sounds corny but this is such an important game to shape our season imo. 3 points and a good display is a must if we harbor any long term hopes of finishing in the top four. Another drab draw or loss then I feel the bad days will continue and maybe the managers ''three months'' will ring true but if it really does take that long we'll have no chance of top four.

Agree completely. Should be a fantastic atmosphere with Rio getting a nice welcome and OT debuts for di Maria, Falcao, Blind, Rojo, and Shaw. Our season starts here and now. Nobody is gonna remember the Swansea and Sunderland games come this May.

Assuming Shaw,Smalling and Jones are out,I would like to see this.

    Dave
    Rafa Evans Blackett Rojo
    Blind. Herrera
    Mata
    Falcao Rooney Di Maria

I think this is our best and most balanced line-up for the front 6.With the possible exception of RVP in for Rooney but Rooney's captain and will play.

Lot's of people are putting in all 3 of Falcao,RVP and Rooney.I think that's overkill. All three offer similar qualities so I think 2 out of 3 is more than enough.Mata's control and vision will be more useful for us.Especially now that he might have a midfield capable of passing him the ball behind and players with pace and making runs in front of him.

I have Di Maria on the wing because I think that's his best position and convenently where we need him most.

Rooney is certain surely. With Smalling and Jones likely out for this, i'd say the back three you went with is almost certain to start as well.

Let me rephrase it before a forum police get me into trouble.
The formation suggested is top heavy, with too many attacking players and three central defenders who will be overrun in the premier league without support in the full back areas(as there is no wingbacks in the formation). We could try to outscore the opponents but defensively it would be an overkill. Four man defense formations would better suit us, rather than the five in defense which we are using now which restricts our attacking movement and we are struggling to score.

Not ideal, but most likely given who's available and in favour. Maybe Tony for Ashley, but Young has at least shown glimpses of OK-ness; at least in pre-season.

Falcao off the bench on 63 minutes

Just saw this comment on a QPR forum which tickled me.

"Its written in the stars. The only game on a sunday for the first time since jesus was a boy, so the whole world only having one game to watch and then motd2 will have a whole show to scrutinise every single one of the goals we concede and then talk for ages about how hard it will be for us to stay up. We are qpr, its what we do. #foreverinpain"

    Lets hope he's right!

Or let logic win through and stop exposing our weakest area, and go 4 at the back with:

    Rafael---Evans----Rojo---Shaw
    -------Herrera-------Blind------
    ----------------Mata--------------
    Janujaz--------RvP--------Di Maria

    or

    Rafael---Evans----Rojo---Shaw
    ---------------Blind--------------
    -Herrera-----------------Di Maria-
    ----------------Mata--------------
    --------Rooney----Falcao--------

Come on Louis don't be stubborn, you know it makes too much sense.

lol!! It's weird that our's is the only game on sunday....I sure as hell hope we give a good performance. I can see the pundits moaning no matter what. Even if we thrash QPR they would still say we just turned into a club who buys success, it was just QPR and so on...
