Mint? Berry?
This would be great to see, think it's our best possible current lineup with RVP out of sortsYeah you're right:
Rooney - Falcao
Mata
Di Maria ------ Herrera
Blind
Shaw - Rojo - Evans - Rafa

God I hope we beat them. I want revenge for the Superbowl. That game was humiliating to watch. But Seahawks don't lose at home just like the Broncos don't lose at their field. It will take every single player to be at their best to beat the Seahawks.Hmmmm... Could always tell my family I'm ill between 1.30-3.30 .
You fancy them against the Seahawks?
feck it,

Rafael Rojo Shaw
Blind
Herrera Di Maria
Mata
RvP Falcao Rooney
Let's win 10-9.
Ritchie De Laet, Danny Drinkwater, Matty James, Danny Simpson, Tom Lawrence, and Nick Powell are all from Man Utd. Schlupp is one of ours but went on trial with you. De Laet, Drinkwater, Matty James, and Schlupp will likely play tomorrow, Matty James probably as a substitute as he's recovering from an injury but the other three will start.Didn't that Schlupp play for United before? Jesus christ I hope he doesn't play well tomorrow but I wont be surprised if he plays like the reincarnation of the Messias. Relatives are always the worst friends.
Sounds like you should get out more.Its nuts how exited I am to see us play Leicester lol.
Van Persie Lol? What is so funny?Why is everyone dropping Van Persie lol? His link up play was very good against QPR and he was dropping deep to collect the ball a lot, He should have scored at least two but that's hardly a mistake worth dropping him over, surely? I still think RVP is our best player and can't wait until he's firing again. Nothing against Rooney, but I wish Moyes just sold him because now he's undroppable and it's a bit annoying, especially when I think that RVP and Falcao can create a good strike partnership
.
Remarkable. Reflects just how inadequate our squad was. The good times are back! (not to jinx the game later today lol!)Tomorrow we could see a lineup consisting of 7 players that joined in the last year. That's not even counting the walking disaster that is Fellaini.
Below is a list of when the expected line up first made their first team PL debut.
2011
2008 2008 2014 2014
2014
2014 2014
2014
2014 2004
In fact when everyone's back, our strongest team probably would see Jones (2011) replace Evans, meaning our most experienced players would be Rafael, De Gea and Rooney. Everyone else was bought in 2014. Wow.
Mata has eight goals and four assists in 19 PL matches - didn't realise that until i saw this stat, so i'd keep him in the no. 10 role. I'd bench Rooney, but that won't happen of course!Playing away home takes less pressure to players so I think LVG will try some new combinations by sticking with 352:
Partner up Falcao and RVP into the front line;
Drop Rooney into the no 10 role with help of Herrera & Blind in the midfield;
Play Evans, Smalling & Rojo in the back line;
Play ADM as the left wing-back with the help of Rojo;
To balance ADM on the left select a more defensive minded Raphael as the right wing-back
And Mata, Januzaj & Shaw all will come up as substitutes at the second half if we took a good scoreline at the first half
I hope you're right and that's what I hope van Gaal is thinking, it's just that feeling I get with him and RVP.I really doubt Mata will be dropped as the #10 his contribution (goals and assists) is immense. Rooney as LVG has said will always play as he is the captain so its Falcao and RVP fighting for that last spot with the bench player coming on as a sub in the second half.
Yes ! Van Gaal was quite pleased about it too.Smalling is fit for this one, right?
Same here. Nice to see you after a long time Gerald.De GeaProbably Rojo in for Blackett.
Rafael--Evans--Blackett--Shaw
Blind
Herrera--Di Maria
Mata
Falcao--Rooney
subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Rojo, Fletcher, Januzaj, Pereira, van Persie
I dont think Smalling will start though,I think Evans will play,and Smalling will be eased in gradually.Yes ! Van Gaal was quite pleased about it too.
Of course. That goes without saying.I dont think Smalling will start though,I think Evans will play,and Smalling will be eased in gradually.
I am not sure whether Blackett will start today,OR Rojo will move to centre-back and Shaw starts at left back.Of course. That goes without saying.
Yup. Just 4 hours to go now !I am not sure whether Blackett will start today,OR Rojo will move to centre-back and Shaw starts at left back.
I guess it depends on whether,
We'll soon see
- LVG will want to disrupt a winning team
- Shaw is fit enough to start
- His assessment on Blackett's recent performances
RVP played well last game.His finishing was not upto his usual standards,yes,but his hold-up play,his passing game and his ability to get into good positions was visible.He is a bit rusty,he hasnt had a proper pre-season.I think today he will get his first goal,he needs to play today.He is one of our most important players and we need him fit and firing on all cylinders.Just woke up, clear blue skies, sun's out and bright.
It's gonna be a great day, I can just feel it.
Anyone else reckon Falcao will start ahead of RVP?
They haven't played for a week, why do they need a breather? We've got West Ham at home next Saturday so it's not like we need to rest them for anything. That doesn't make any sense, being worried about a player getting injured and not being able to play them so the solution is not playing them.Hope we field Adnan for his first start of the season and give Mata or Rooney a breather. We can't risk injury to either so prevention is better than cure right ? Januzaj could slot into either player's position and deserves it TBF. He's looked increasingly angsty playing out of position in each sub appearance and that manifests himself into his surprisingly hurried style of play. Maybe he's trying too hard to squeeze a performance into 15-20 mins and. Wouldn't drop Van Persie. He needs to regain match fitness and the only way to do so is play actual football. Blackett needs to play. He's done quite well and doesn't deserve to be dropped. Shaw or Smalling will have to force their way into the starting XI.
Rooney -- -- Van PersieBench : Falcao, Smalling, Mata, Shaw.

I definately wouldnt say Ven Persie polayed WELL the last game. I think a few people are over reacting to the QPR game because of the result, seeing so many new signings play and actually watching more exciting football. I would say all of the new signings played well. Van Persie had his best game so far this year.....but more in a case of showing signs of getting better than palying well. In terms of finishing, movement and all round play he was still barely 50% of the Van Persie he should be and for me, with the competition for his place, if he doesnt perform in this match he should be dropped....and maybe he should start from the bench.RVP played well last game.His finishing was not upto his usual standards,yes,but his hold-up play,his passing game and his ability to get into good positions was visible.He is a bit rusty,he hasnt had a proper pre-season.I think today he will get his first goal,he needs to play today.He is one of our most important players and we need him fit and firing on all cylinders.
Regarding Falcao,I am not sure whether he is ready to go in from the start,he needs to adapt to the Premier League,new team mates and our style of play.Also does he have the required match sharpness?I dont know.We shall see.
If it was upto me,I would start Rooney-RVP up top.On 60th min,I would bring on Falcao for either one of them depending on how they are playing.
That's fair, I think the main thing that made me think Falcao might start is the fact that LVG said Rooney is the only guaranteed starting striker - seemed to lay the foundations to change the starting line up from last week.RVP played well last game.His finishing was not upto his usual standards,yes,but his hold-up play,his passing game and his ability to get into good positions was visible.He is a bit rusty,he hasnt had a proper pre-season.I think today he will get his first goal,he needs to play today.He is one of our most important players and we need him fit and firing on all cylinders.

I am not too worried.If there is anyone who is adept at handling youth players its LVG.I'm disappointed that many people haven't got Januzaj in their line-ups, but then again I'm struggling to find a player for him to replace in our strongest XI.
I hope he doesn't get too disillusioned and takes this as an opportunity to learn from genuinely world class players and improve his game (in particular his decision making in the final third).
It's a shame really, as he had some good touches when he came on against QPR and helped himself to a hat trick in the reserve game. He deserves a start.
With Juvenile and Fiorentina sniffing around (allegedly), I'm just ultra cautious to avoid another Pogba scenario.
