Stevie G is a big game player.
    He will turn up.
    He'll probably score.
Physically he may be past it, but mentally, he is just as strong.
I think of all 22 players on the pitch, he will be the player who wants to win the most on Sunday.
Of course, wanting to win and actually winning are 2 different things.
    Fellaini will dominate him.

Not just them too, I remember us struggling to beat Wolves when they were one of the worst teams.

I'm not being some sort of killjoy. We can beat them and we should, but have seen us struggling when being favourites on paper.
I don't know... I feel a lot more like how I felt before the 8-2 win against arsenal then anything else. We are in really good form, they have been awful, just got knocked out of the champions league so are both physically and mentally deflated, we have better players in every position on the pitch, a much better manager, we are at home... I just don't see us losing. The team knows they've already dropped enough points, and they will be up for it after being smashed by liverpool last season. Really can see a "revenge hammering" so to speak, and hope it happens.

Don't forget that one of the reasons they were so shite tonight was because Brentan rested Lallana and Coutinho for our game.

Think we may see 4-2-3-1, like in our games versus Chelsea and City...

    de Gea
    Valencia Evans Rojo Young
    Carrick Fellaini
    Januzaj Rooney di Maria*
    van Persie
*Mata or Herrera if di Maria isn't ready.

If it goes to form we'll both have no shots.
We will win 1-0 and the scousers will say they would have won 5-0 with Sturridge.

I am not worried about this game at all. We performed really well against upper team this season, only 1 loss at City where we were the better team until Smalling's screw-up. Beat the rest of the top tier such as Arsenal, Southampton, Everton, draw Chelsea when they are in their best form.

When was the last time we gave them a beating? I feel it is coming up this Sunday.

That was some game that one!

I think we'll win, just hope we dominate them in the process to rub it in!

Call me greedy but I will not accept anything less than a 4-0 victory!
After what we had to endure from those smug dippers last season, i want to see them annihilated at Old Trafford :keano:

    Would love to see this:

    -------------------DdG--------------------
    ---Valencia---Evans*---Rojo---Young---
    ------------------Carrick------------------
    ----Hererra-----Di Maria**------Mata---
    --------------------Rooney---------------
    ---------------RvP/Falcao----------------

*would prefer Smalling, but no clue
    ** Hope he's back!

Will be RvP surely, especially with his form last match. Sub in Fellaini, Carrick and Falcao.

Brendon Rodgers comes out with a quote about how well Van Gaal is doing for a newbie, claiming that "You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette. We needed this loss to assess our strengths as a group so we can finally Go Again. Next Year Is Our Year. YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!"
    Fixed! ;)

I really hope not. Treating them as a big team and showing them respect with that sort of lineup is the last thing we need to do.

We should be looking to play a team that will dominate them in possession and run their tired legs ragged. Do that and we will murder them. Put Herrera on Gerrard and don't have him a second on the ball and let Fellaini bully Henderson and their front line won't get a sniff.

Let Rooney and Di Maria run at their defence and they will fall to pieces.

Just that he's better when he's assigning ONE task on the field. He was very good against Chelsea because he marked Fabregas and followed him. He’s ont the kind of game he loves, the physical presence and win a fight. Steve me isn’t that mobile and it would be even easier for Felli to do that.

BUT, note that I’m not a Fellaini fan, I swore at him all night long yesterday, and his ‘performance’ last year against the dippers was also the pinnacle of the hate!

I just mean that we have to make sure that Rodgers won’t surpass us tactically this time again, and I would like to see us nullify their playmaker. We can’t control Sterling and it’s going to be difficult to contain their full backs, but if Gerrard slips from this game, their all team will do the same
to be honest i dont see why we should waste a player on stopping gerrard

I'm predicting that after a ragged game where we only manage 1 shot on target (an overhit De Gea freekick from his box), we'll somehow end up winning 4-0. It will be a mystery for the ages how this happened.

Rotation is only a work of a genius if you're winning, any man can rotate and lose
I'm not saying Brentan is a genius! Far from it. But if he plays Coutinho and Lallana against us it will be game on.

Sayin that, I still think we have better players and a better manager so should win this.

The players and LvG must be really up for this.
    We'll smash them feckers 6-0.

I would be so confident if we had two fit full-backs. Even without Di Maria. If Di Maria isn't fit and both of our full-backs, as expected, are out injured I will be less optimistic.
Still, Liverpool aren't exactly pulling up trees so I would still expect us to grind out the victory.

Basel got a draw out of them away. Would be kind of embarrassing if we can't get at least that at home, wouldn't it?

With Rafa back in full training, even without a game since 2 month, do you think that LVG will seek balance and play Rafael RB, Evans CB and Rojo LB, with Carrick/McNair or Blackett CB ? Do you think it’s possible?

I would like to see it to be honest, even if Rafa is not fit, Evans still not match fit, and Blackett not good enough; he can manage to play 60/70 mins and then replacing Valencia there maybe.

I'd actually sooner play Young ahead of Valencia.

    Magical Manchester United.
A couple of things are definitely going to happen, a.) Gerrard will score a FK or penalty and kiss the camera and b.) Liverpool will be game raising bastards. Even taking that into account we should beat them, they are astonishingly poor this season. Play a working system with four at the back and we'll be fine IMO.

I think it will be a boring cagey game for neutrals, my feeling from past few games of both teams.

Mata or Fellaini needs to be dropped, possibly di maria for mata and the same line up and 20 minutes cameo from falcao. Comfortable 2-0 win in our hands.

Looking at these lineup predictions thinking we are one CB injury away from being seriously fecked. If LVG does not buy a CB in January it's going to be a long second half of the season.

    I'd play:

Mignolet; Manquillo, Toure/Sakho, Lovren, Moreno; Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho; Markovic, Gerrard, Sterling.
