    Is di Maria fit?

We really should be beating these, they're shambolic. Of course they'll raise their game and Gerrard will somehow produce an acceptable performance, but we should still really be beating them.

Not holding out high hopes for this one unfortunately. Especially if our defense plays like they did against Southampton and dear god please don't let LvG decide to use the 3-5-2 again.

I think we might end up helping to keep Rodgers employed for the rest of the season.

I would have rather taken a draw at Soton if it mean't Smalling wouldn't get injured and we win at liverpool come Sunday. Smalling was bringing confidence and consistency for us at the back :( really gutted his injured, I hope its not a long layoff.

    Fully agree.

And yeah when Liverfo*ls beat us, its like they won the league, and don't care what place they come, contract renewal for every player and the manager lol.

The thing is I see why we're going with the 3-5-2 but it hasn't had the impact I'm sure Van Gaal wanted even though we've won both games. It will be a risk played Valencia and Young at full-back in a 4 man defence but I think we should risk it and go with a 4-3-3. It's absolutely vital that Di Maria be fit for it to work though.

I would bring Januzaj in for this too. Get a bit more pace down the wings. I want Rafael to start but his lack of match fitness will probably see him miss out.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Evans--Rojo--Young
    Carrick--Herrera
    Januzaj--Rooney--Di Maria
    van Persie

It might be a bit open defensively but it would be worth it with us playing at home. If it isn't working then we can switch it around.

Hoping we give them the thudding they are due. If we turn up all attacking players blazing they are there for the taking. He needs to get rid of this 3-5-2 nonsense though.

    I F***** hate them!

I’m still hurt with the pain of last year; I was in the stadium next to their « fans » and have still their horrible songs in my head.

    REVENGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any team will do it as long as we win it ! Play 1-9-1, anyway I don’t care !

We’ll be vulnerable on the wings if we continue playing Valencia and Young at full backs. Hopefully we’ll have Rafa and Shaw back for the game giving us a good balance. I would prefer playing a 4-1-4-1 with wingers in order to kill them there and let exposed their midfield, where I hope we are better this year. Fellaini man marking on Gerrard, and Herrera (Mata) playing there also. The diamond could be very dangerous and let their wide mens on one vs one vs our false defenders. It would be great to play Rafael/Di Maria and Shaw for this one

    -------------------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------------------

    Rafael/Valencia------------Evans-----------------Rojo----------------------Young/Shaw if fit

    -------------------------------------------Carrick----------------------------------------------

    Valencia/Rooney---------Rooney/Herrera----------Fellaini-------------------Januzaj/Young

    ----------------------------------------------RVP-------------------------------------------------

    ---------------------------------Lambert----------------------------------

    Lallana/Coutinho----------Gerrard-------------------------Sterling

    ------------------Allen/Lucas----------Henderson------------------

    Manquillo-------------Skrtel-----------Lovren---------Johnson

    ---------------------------------Mignolet------------------------------

We simply must destroy this shower of shite. Get 11 fit players on the pitch and give them a cricket score. Utterly embarrassing performance last year at home against them. One of the most hardest matches to watch for me. I know Old Trafford will be ROCKING Sunday and I hope they sing the Gerrard chant for 90 mins. di Maria is a must for this game really need him to be fit. I hope that Rooney and Giggs really fire up this bunch and let the new boys know the importance of this match, especially for the fans who have been behind them every game. Hopefully we have some better news on the injury front when the press conference comes along.

    ___________Big Dave________
    Rafael__Evans___Rojo ___Young
    __________Carrick___________
    _____Herrera______Di Maria___
    ____________Mata___________
    _____Rooney_______van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Blackett, Falcao, Januzaj, Fellaini, Fletcher,Valencia

hope we pass them to oblivion run circles around Stevie me. Fellaini has been good but he has played alot of games in a box to box role. A rest is only why I put him in for di Maria

This is the only game I would play Fellaini in a role he would love, the man marking destroyer. Just here to mark Gerrard and giving him a torrid time.

Liverpool will play on the wings and Gerrard will have a massive importance so if we want to win this game we must nullify slideur G. and then Sterling, Lallana and Coutinho won't be there.

firstly, what makes you think he would "love" that role?

secondly, why on earth would you trust him with it? he doesnt possess the concentration nor the tactical awareness to pull off that kind of role. nor does he have the discipline, he'd get caught up in the atmosphere / occaision and elbow the scouse tw@t. As much as id like to see that id prefer to 11 men on the field and out play them.

I want us to win this by only 1 goal. Preferably in injury time.
This will drive the Liverpool fans crazy.
I would also like a penalty, not to be given against us.
I would also like us to foul one of their players and not get a red card.
Together, these instances may send some Liverpool fans, into psychosis.

Just that he's better when he's assigning ONE task on the field. He was very good against Chelsea because he marked Fabregas and followed him. He’s ont the kind of game he loves, the physical presence and win a fight. Steve me isn’t that mobile and it would be even easier for Felli to do that.

BUT, note that I’m not a Fellaini fan, I swore at him all night long yesterday, and his ‘performance’ last year against the dippers was also the pinnacle of the hate!

I just mean that we have to make sure that Rodgers won’t surpass us tactically this time again, and I would like to see us nullify their playmaker. We can’t control Sterling and it’s going to be difficult to contain their full backs, but if Gerrard slips from this game, their all team will do the same

Would love to win with a solid performance.

He has not been injured for about 5 games, so he was always due an injury.
Generally speaking, our defenders (who are made of glass), tend to last about 4 games, before being injured for another 4 games.
Its a shame about McNair - LvG spotted 3 major errors which is why he took him off. I'm not sure if he will get another chance, anytime soon.

Hopefully Rafael will be back soon, so he can play his 4 games, before getting injured again. ;)

Falcao will not play I don't think. How many game time have he clocked since his recent injury? It will be a huge risk.
Falcao can definitely play 20-30 minutes. No more than that though.
And I cant see him starting a game until January.

Just start Falcao please. Di Maria, Rooney, RVP and Falcao should be our attack.

I think a very convincing win with them being totally outclassed in every single department would be a lot more satisfying.

Was this the fixture last year when Moyes stated that Man Utd were underdogs against Liverpool, at Old Trafford?

I guess you didn't watch Chelsea game where he was very good in exactly that role.
Just one more poster writing the same old stuff about Fellaini.

Oh boy you're pessimistic. Our defense gets one injury per game so that doesn't help.

I dont thinK LVG will go with 3-5-2 at home. So I hope. And even if we loose that wont keep Rogers for the rest of the season. That's my opinion anyway.
I dont think we'll loose and although they're rubbish it will be a hard game cause it's their cup final after all.

Heart says win, head says draw.

Life isn't kind enough for us to win 6 on the trot and go 10 points clear of them.

I've got De Gea in the sweepstake as the next player to get injured in the first twenty minutes .....

It's a slightly different game to last year, where they were smashing all comers, so people stop being so negative.

It's about time we punished them, and blew them out of the top 4 race

hope they have a gruelling game tonight

They're so wank going forward that I think even our crazy gung ho formation would comfortably beat them.

    De Gea
    Rafael Evans Rojo Young
    Carrick
    Herrera Di Maria
    Rooney
    Falcao Van Persie
Usually is pretty suicidal to play it... but they are clueless in attack that I think they simply wouldn't know what to do.

I'm more confident going into Sunday than I have been against them for a long time. Really hope Di Maria's fit because he can really tear them apart.

This Fellaini is an absolute yard dog !!!, how any united fan can say he is good enough to wear that shirt is beyond me, he's a big lump that you can knock the ball up too in times of panic and he may cause defenses a bit of a problem, other that that forget it, he an absolute joke!!
He is more then good enough to be a squad player, if you want to follow a team full of super stars (including the bench) i suggest you go and follow Real Madrid.
