Rooney needs to be really careful now. Of all players we cannot afford for him to get sent off.
He is the most composed on the park today and then goes and does that. Not sure what Wilson is or was supposed to offer. Young needs to stop putting Evans in difficult positions. Think this is going to be even more comfortable second half. They sit themselves when we attack. Not seen Gerrard all game.

What the hell is with the ridiculous Neville bashing? Didn't hear anything thats worthy of the venom getting thrown about in here.
Don't get either. Everyone likes to moan about everything on here though so it's only to be expected. No one is every happy with anything in this forum.

Moreno is making Valencia look Ronaldo-esque, I think we need some more pace in midfield, Herrera for Wilson and pushing Rooney a little up field could be nice.

Good result so far and good performances from De Gea and Carrick. Valencia's done well but given the ball away a couple too many times.

What worries me most is the cards - I see a sending off coming so we'll need to be a bit more compact defensively so we don't need to make desperate lunges.

Fellaini has been poor on the ball, but is doing well in winning first balls and not too bad defensively.

Put herrera for fellaini in 2 half, he is too slow for coutinho and sterling

Fellaini needs to come off. Switch Evans into the middle, Blackett on, Carrick into DM. Wilson off, Herrera on and Rooney into a forward role too.

We need to control this game now not risk red cards. McNair for Jones or a forward for Falcao later too.

Wilson and RVP getting no service whatsoever.

We can only ride our luck for so long, I strongly suspect Atkinson will give them a pen and/or one of our guys a red.
Agree with the red thing, we need to calm down a bit but its not so much riding our luck. De Gea is just brilliant,no luck about i

2-0 at halftime. Bit of a smash and grab, mixed with a bit of luck so far. We haven't really done a whole lot going forward and have looked shaky at times at the back. Score line really flatters us as Sterling has really troubled us.

In the second half we need to cut out some of the poor passes that give away possession in our half, and tighten up at the back. If we can do that we should be able to see out the game. Would be nice to see us actually look threatening on goal as well and create a few more chances.

Red man down in London town
    Falcao for Wilson
    Herrera for Fellaini
    in the 2nd half.
Agreed with that. Fellaini may get sent off as Liverpool turn up the pressure. Wilson and Van Persie haven't seen a lot of the ball, but still it would be a good time to get Falcao involved in a proper game. I'd like to see how fit he truly is.

Otherwise we haven't been all that impressive so far. Not many chances created and we've developed a bad habit of conceding possession in our own half. Passing back without purpose has been a flaw in play for a while now. Gotta step it up and attack quicker when we have the ball.

Ugh, gutted to be 2-0 down. I actually think we have been slightly the better side but the big difference is killer instinct in the final third. United have it and we don't.

I'd like to see Markovic come on assuming he has trimmed his nails. Maybe bring him on around the 60 minute mark for Coutinho or Lallana to see if his pace can make a difference.

I doubt we'll get anything from this point.
We don't have a defence, playing a horrible system and Leicester is still relatively fresh. So I wouldn't give up so quickly especially we'll most likely have a man sent off in the 2nd half.

We've mastered this not playing well but winning thing. Both defenses are there for the taking.

Don;t get it either tbh! Neville clearly said on numerous occasions that it took him 3 replays to workout whether RVP touched the ball or not, which indicates how difficult it must've been for the lino!

A wise man once said, "Its better to be lucky than good".

Couldn't be more true than today. We've really done feck all other than score one legit goal and one that should have been disallowed!

The offside goal couldn't have come at a better time either  I could care less if we get a decision against the dippers. Pile on the misery.

However, our football has been relatively shit in the last couple of matches. Namely because we seem to have shifted Carrick into the back 3/4/5 (who can keep track?) and are using Fellaini in that defensive midfield role. Fellaini has his qualities but passing is not one of them. He is better off as a box to box midfielder.

Makes you wonder whether Van Gaal is making the right decision to sacrifice Herrera in midfield over Fellaini? Herrera means we play more fluid football which is supposed to be the dutch way? Fellaini brings us more physicality, strength and a defensive presence on set pieces.

I just find it an odd decision that Van Gaal has chosen to drop Herrera rather than Felli.

Also, our service to the strikers has been atrocious. James Wilson looks out of his depth and LVG seriously has to consider throwing on Falcao at some point? Or even Januzaj to provide us with some sort of threat in our front line.

I can see us having a sending off today. 2 of our CB and 2 of our CM are booked. Given the frantic pace at which we're defending and going into tackles this is bound to happen.

    Jones or Fellaini for me...

Wilson is doing as much as he can with the service he is getting to be fair. He's working hard, tracking back and chasing every ball. Some of the criticism is unwarranted. RVP is working his sock's off, don't think he'll last the 90. Carrick is having a magnificent game, as is Valencia, Mata has been anonymous apart from the goal. Fellaini is doing OK but I'd take him off because he's the type to going flying in and get sent off.

Herrera needs to come on for Fellaini, not Mata. Fellaini is on a yellow and he is only an elbow away from another one. Herrera for Fellaini, and Falcao for Wilson.

We need to take RVP or Wilson off and bring on Herrera to help support the midfield - they've had no service and we could use the extra man elsewhere

Fellaini and Jones have been awful, the passing from Jones has been woeful

I do not think RVP gets to it.
to me it's kinda obvious he does...if the ref missed that then the Mata goal "isn't" offside, but if RvP gets credit for the assist for example that's a blatant offside...I dont mind it, but it just surprises me it stood given how far beyond the last defender Mata was when RvP redirected the flight of the ball

Fellaini and Evans worry me. Jones is slowly growing into it and has made some decent challenges.

Mata has been okay, helped us maintain possession with the right pass at times rather than the most difficult. Rooney has been great. Rvp is putting in a shift but needs a chance. Wilson hasn't done much. Valencia great. Young annoying for much of the half going backwards but grew into it. Carrick and De Gea their normal steady brilliant performances.

Chance creation remains an issue and there has been a lapse or two in defence but otherwise for a United v Liverpool game, I'm happy.

We haven't played well and we're 2 nil up which is pretty good in itself. Our midfield has been terrible and Liverpool keep finding spaces to penetrate in and eventually they will score if we don't do something about it.

To be honest I would take off Wilson and bring on Herrara to shore up the midfield and also help keep possession. Wilson's pace hasn't been used and that is no fault of his own.

Don't quite understand why folks want Fellaini off. He s been playing great imho and made some important defensive interceptions.
I don't think he's been doing too bad either. But him being on yellow is really worrying so that's why I wouldn't mind him getting subbed

Neville needs to pipe the feck down. I mean, Carragher doesn't pretend to be anything other than a keen Liverpool fan, he's not desperate to be seen as unbiased, whereas Gaz is doing his best to appease the non-United fans, even if that means blatantly talking rubbish about United.
Right... let's have a man trying to be a good commentator - one who has to be unbiased and reasoned in his arguments - not be one by being a good ol' United lad. He's no longer a player for us. It's people like you who need to pipe down. He's trying to make a name for himself outside of United. Let the man be.
