Not loyalty, respect to those who brought him to the point he's at right now, which is the people who work at our club.
The manager who actually showed faith in him is long gone. As are his staff. Who else? The tea lady?
He's obviously upset about the whole move, and there was nothing wrong with his celebration.

So it's just about the first team staff? It's just about the coaches? There are a lot more people working at this club. Besides, SAF still works for the club.

I really hate the whole non celebration against your own club thing because you draw more attention than you would by actually celebrating. And Welbeck did not lift his shirt over his head or kiss the badge he just showed excitement nothing disrespectful.

Dived against us, celebrated against us despite getting a very warm reception from the fans. You're a wanker Danny, shame on you.

Of course they helped him, but him celebrating scoring a goal for his new club hardly undoes that.

Yes, because that's the same as applauding a player who came up through the ranks here.
He came up through the ranks. He threw a hiss to leave. He dives, he celebrate the goal and the fans applaud him. Smart.

What's wrong with fans clapping him? It would be worse if they booed him just for scoring imo.
The fans clapping him are morons. I'm not saying he deserved to be booed, but his celebration in front of the united fans who supported him throughout his spell here, plus his behaviour in wanting away isn't deserving of a good reception.

People moaning about him celebrating are almost certainly the same people who've been giving him shit for years.

He wanted away because he wanted more game time in his favoured position. Nothing wrong with that. He then scored a big goal in a Quarter Final, I think he can be forgiven for showing a bit of emotion.

If it's ok for Danny to celebrate because he plays for Areenal then it's ok to boo him because of the same reason

He was quite average and got lucky with the Valencia ball served on a plate. Only Fernando Torres would've missed that.

Why is everybody saying he didn't ask for a move. Even when saf was manager there were rumours he wanted more games. Wanker.

We should change the club from Manchester United to Welbeck FC.

I dont give a feck if he celebrates or asking to leave. I am old enough to know that loyalty in football doesn't exist. But applauding him? Its even more ridiculous to Moyes standing ovation

Been one of my favourite players here even when he was doing the classic Bambi on ice imitation, always admired his workrate but he's a wanker for celebrating. Would be understandable if he got booed at the beggining or throughout the game but the fans were behind him.

He's paid back with a dive and a celebration. No rocket science to me here.

Always thought Danny was a classy lad, can't believe he celebrated and ruined all good sentiment from me.

Amongst footballing managerial 'Gods'
He did well to reach the ball and round De Gea, but his overall performance was nothing to remember. He still lacks the footballing brain and positioning to be a great striker. With that said, I will still have him here over anyone of our strikers beside Rooney.
