I know these two are the cafs scapegoats right now, but how the feck are they responsible for piss poor defending and the ref being an utter twat?
The ref was poor but that wasn't the reason we lost. Falcao can't stay on his feet and slows the attack even further. Di Maria constantly gives away the ball (as he did for the 3rd). Valencia managed to get three assists today.

it's an absolute scandal that we have had Valencia at right back for three years. You can't even blame him - he filled in there once when we were desperate and some how a player who cannot defend to save his life is being asked to play week in week out.
Pretty much say the same for Young. Neither are full backs. If they aren't good enough to play in their proper postiions, they aren't good enough to play for United

If LvG thinks our 4th spot is saved and we keep it there he's mistaken! United under SAF was never complacent in any position even when leading 13 points on the table! There's so much our team needs to learn these days
Really! Remember the lead we threw against Blackburn in the PL? Loads of performances in Europe: Monaco, Dortmund,BM(when they weren't even good)...yes SAF was never complacent!

These games we have been shit all year. Against the other top 4 teams, good, against the seriously shit teams...decent. In any 'tricky' away game it's been the same story. We don't have a Ronaldo or a RVP to destroy these teams.

We've been really good of late but this result has undone all of that. Start again, Louis. How's about finding a way to change the system when we need a goal rather than just changing the personel?

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic springs to mind.

What exactly do we need from our next 4 games?!
    Not a whole lot actually.

United are on 65 points with 4 games left.
Liverpool are on 58 points with 5 games left.

Liverpool can hit a maximum of 73 points, so we need 8 points from our last 4 games to hang on, assuming Liverpool win all remaining 5 games.

If we play like this again for the next four games we're out, but I really don't see us dropping points to West Brom, Crystal Palace and Hull City and I really don't see Liverpool winning al their remaining games. They still Chelsea and Stoke away.

everton aren't the crap team of earlier in the season, they've had a recent resurgence.

And we've learnt over the last 2 games that we need our best 11 to get anything in these games. Without Carrick, Blind at left back, and dare I say it Jones we look average.

Hopefully have plenty to get over the top 4 line, and then have a rethink

Wasn't THAT bad. Bit of a flukey opener, then a set peice and something of a freak third goal. Could have been different on another day. Not saying we deserved anything, Everton were good and used what little of the ball they had well. Its hard to fault many individual performances, Rooney and Fellaini aside. Some people are mindbogglingly reactionary.

Bit of a dilema there really. Shaw has been good last 2 games

It was that bad. I know we're on a upwards curve compared to last year but we simply can't accept that as a Utd performance.

    Poor and spineless performance.
Our appaling away form continues,i can see us drop points away at both Crystal Palace and Hull if this doesnt get fixed.
West Brom at OT is a must win.

Wow - all Sky pundits agree with me about the offside rule. The ball was aimed at Lukaku and he went for it therefore should be offside even if the rule says not...

Agree about palace but SHOULD (SHOULD) win at Hull. If don't not sure we deserve to be top four

It should be offside the rules at the moment are stupid. I'm all for making the game more attacking but this is not the way to do it.

Scousers win their game in hand; the difference is only 4 points. They have an easier run in
Do they? They go away to Chelsea and away to stoke at the end. We have home against arsenal. Our tough run is over now, 3 games we should win left and arsenal at home, which we should also win but its a tough game. Theirs is definitely harder.

Chelsea away won't be easy and Stoke on the last day. They have Hull away this week, who will want that win to secure their PL status. Liverpool were terrible yesterday, so don't worry too much about them.

And their hardest remaining game is away to Chelsea, but that'll be after they have won the title.

    Stoke away might be interesting.

We've had much, much worse performances this year. That's scoreline is massively flattering, if it wasn't for the strange third goal or we'd taken one of our chances in the first half people wouldn't be losing their shit this much.

Even ignoring the terrible start we had, there have been much worse performances. West Ham away, both games against Southampton, Burnley at home, Stoke away.

Exactly. It was definitely played to Lukaku.

Everton had horse shoes up their ass, especially in the first half. The second goal was a wonder goal. Sure the marking should have been tighter but from where that was headed, I don't want to say it is a fluke, but it definitely is a unlikely outcome. Ashley young did have a chance at it, but was perhaps too close to the goal line. The first goal was a mess. Valencia throwing himself into the challenge was up the pitch and then Mcnair's hapless challenge.

Now for all the good play in the first half, United were not good where it counted.

My only complaint about LVG would be his half time substitution. I would have brought on di maria and moved Mata inside. Falcao is a bust. They would be insane to buy him. I don't want him at any price.

Well I didn't see that coming. I did no it could potentially pan out like that, though, with us keeping the ball and Everton countering. I just thought we'd have created a lot more chances against an Everton defence that has leaked a lot of goals this season.
