At the end of the day if you have a proven record of scoring endless goals at the very highest level against the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Real Madrid, Barcelona then you are going to have an insanely inflated price tag......The likes of Harry Kane, Lacazette etc might be potentially as good as Muller yet are relatively untested and can not boast such a feat on the biggest stage and therefor they can not have a similar price.....I don't think Suarez is considerably better than Muller and he went for 80 million last summer so that is the going rate for a player that has a proven record in terms of scoring consistently against the best teams on the world stage at International level and club level
But has he ever scored more than 20 league goals a season? He's not even an out and out striker. I agree the guy has got a nack for important goals but for that fee he has to play like Kaka too.

Di Maria will come good for sure. Selling him after one bloody year is pathetic.

Magical Manchester United.
The issue is who to replace him with if we get an astronomical fee. Players of his ability who are established aren't easy to find. And we don't need the money.
Götze. We could probably get him for less than we sell Di Maria. Younger, versatile, can play across the front four. But I admit he will probably give it another shot under Pep.

Well there is this one guy from Wolfsburg who hasn't been bad you know...
Kevin set piece specialist de bruyne? Still not convinced with him plus Wolfsburg don't need the money. Why don't people just support adm and wish for him to play to his full ability next season? If it doesn't work out again then next year we can talk about transfers.

Good thing it won't happen.
Getting linked with Gaitan every 3 days and Di Maria with PSG constantly sniffing around, i dont know. We were getting linked to Turan, and prior to him Felipe Anderson. Something tells me we want another winger, we actually dont need one unless we sell ADM. I wish we would give ADM another season.

The only player i want from PSG is Verratti. I would say Verratti is included in the deal or forget it, just like Ramos and De Gea.

We've been linked with Gaitan every window for at least three years, it's lazy bullshit.

Di Maria isn't leaving, I'm pretty confident of that. The papers are just plucking things out of their arses after the FFP stuff being lifted.

Regarding Di Maria, it's all well to say that we shouldn't sell him, but none of us know what Van gaal has in mind, maybe Di Maria isn't an important player for him. I think that Di Maria is a wonderful player but what Van gaal thinks about him?

I really hope they don't get Isco, last year the only weak points in their attack was Oscar (who I think is averaged at best).

..........Costa
Hazard-Isco-William

That's a frightening attack.

So we're gonna take a 15m hit on him after 1 season? I doubt that, especially since PSG are cleared to spend big.
To be fair, United's accountants amortise player values linearly.

Di Maria signed a 5 year contract, so his value on the books will be £48m or €67m at the moment. If we could get at least that much, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happening.

He said it, but maybe his opinion changed after training him an entire season, maybe he thought that he could make him play his style and Di Maria struggled to adapt. Or PSG are dreaming and will never sign Di Maria.

You are right it is either complete hogwash or LVG doesn't rate him anymore and would take what he could get for him. I really hope the latter isn't the case because that would be quite disappointing.

I'd be pretty pissed off it we sold Di Maria. He's said himself about 3 times that he's willing to stay and turn things around. Even if he is off, losing 15-20 million would bean absolute joke. Hang onto him and we could reap the rewards next season.

I don't think coach like LVG would make decisions based on just one season with our weakness held elsewhere.
It should the media crap that thrown everywhere.

Am I alone in seeing sense in selling Di Maria? Whenever a story links him with a move away people seem aghast but it seems reasonable enough to me.

Is Navas that good? I couldn't really say..
I haven't seen him play much. The missus is Costa Rican and rates him highly (why wouldn't she?) and Real Madrid didn't buy him for nothing. In 2013-14 when he was playing for Levante, he beat both Courtois and Caballero to win the 'keeper of the year award. He was also the first 'keeper to win the La Liga player of the month award. We all know he had a storming World Cup. None of that speaks to whether he'd do well in the EPL.

As long as we can get the money we spent on him (60m pounds) and get a replacement (which at the moment the only one I can think of is Muller) I would be okay with it. The other way I would be ok with it is if we get Veratti in return.

Selling him just for cash (especially for 20m loss on what we paid) and replacing him with some lesser player would be terrible business.

It would need to be a swap deal (which is highly unlikely) for me to see sense - i.e. Goetze or someone else from Munich. Cash is not what we need - we need quality and despite his form last season, he has quality in abundance. Therefore, unless we are bringing in someone of equal ability, it makes no sense to let him go.
