Best ODI batsmen ive seen, I'd rank.

1. Tendulkar
2. Ponting
3. AB

Don't think anyone else comes close. Then Gilly and Dhoni probably make up 4 and 5, though I might be forgetting someone obvious though.

You have to drop everything and run to the TV when AB is batting, you just have to.

I don't think Sanga's in quite the same class. Up until the last 3 or so years (when the ODI rules made batting a lot easier for batsmen) he's had a very good but unspectacular ODI career. Then if you compare his output into those 3 years it still isn't really extraordinary compared to the likes of De Villiers, Kohli and Amla.

Dhawan is awful. Can't seem to get anything off the middle of the bat.

Rabada's such a weird bowler. You'd never think he was bowling at 90mph+ watching him.

Inzi over Gilchrist? Naah...Batting was comparatively tough when Inzi played but Gilchrist played too many match defining ODI innings. Overall also, none of the Pak batsmen, whether in ODI or tests, would rank in top 5.

Kallis would be in a Top 5 ODI players.
Wouldn't even make an all time ODI XI IMO. Akram and Imran Khan would take the all-rounder spots. And there's better top order batsman.

Seriously? He is the 2nd best all rounder after Gary Sobers.

Akram's batting let him down. He'd be classed as a WC bowler who could bat here and there.

Imran Khan is a legend. I'd have him up there.

Well Pollock then. Akram would still make the XI as a strike bowler.

Yea he's not a showman which is why no one wants to give him credibility. If you're making an 11 and you want a WC all rounder, you'd have Kallis.
Where would you bat him? He doesn't get in at 3/4 with the likes of Ponting/Richards/De Villiers. And you wouldn't want him to be finishing your innings over the likes of Bevan.

In ODI? No chance. In test, he will at least be in contention for all time XI for all rounder spot but will be beaten to it by Sobers. Not only Sobers, I think many will put Imran Khan above him as allrounder. Caf posters particularly are not big fans of Kallis so you will not find any support for that argument here anyway. I found that out during a cricket draft game when Kallis was my 'ace' player but not many think of him as that great which resulted in me losing

Criminally underrated on here.

I love IK to bits but Jacques has played more than double the amount of intl cricket than IK with better stats.

IK had that touch of Cantona/aura about him which Jacques doesn't have. But Kallis would always be on my all time ODI list.

Yeah I find the Caf's rating of Kallis weird. You'd think he'd barely scored a run or taken a wicket the way he's rated.

Either way, I find it hard to say I'd have Sobers over him, and similarly hard to believe those that do, too, because I'm simply not old enough to have seen Sober's play. If there are people on here that have, then fair enough, but I'd imagine we've all seen a lot more than Kallis for better and worse than, at best, youtube clips of Sobers.

Can't wait till tomorrow for the test series to begin. Time for some real cricket. Fully expect dust bowls, or the curators will get abused by Ravi Shastri. Hope, they are good enough to last for 5 days; no one likes mine fields.

Expect India to better than we did in the limited over series. Murali, Pujara, Kohli & Rahane is potentially a great batting line-up. Ashwin and Criminal Mishra should do well on spinning wickets too. We might just nick this 2-1.

Good toss to win. Dhawan already out. Not a big loss, I guess. How do we in this series is dependent on Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane and the spinners; rest everything is a bonus.

Elgar, van Zyl, Vilas, Harmer? Any idea @zing?

Should be a routine win for RSA who are easily a better team than India.
Never been routine for South Africa on really low and slow turners. From what I have read, this pitch is dry and has a lot of cracks. Should start turning pretty early.

Don't India have a WK that is a proper batsman?
I am not entirely sure. Naman Ojha and Partiv Patel are supposed to be decent bats, but I am pretty clueless when it comes domestic cricket that I have no idea how they are doing. I like Sanju Samson, he may not be ready though.

Clarke, Moeen Ali and now Elgar. Indian tradition of giving wickets to shit bowlers continues.

On a long road that returns to Old Trafford!!!
Why would you stay back home to watch day 1 of any test?
Courts are on vacation. I can finish whatever little work I have from home so there is no need to travel 90 odd min to go to office and I actually like watching Tests.

Also, you only need to experience the joy of doing nothing but sleeping/sitting on the couch the entire day and watching a test match being played out to know how rich and rewarding the experience is.

We have a game ready but I can't do lynch. Need a co-mod for that and for the cafwolf stuff. Also, last time round when we put up a sign-up thread, there wasn't any response.
Yeah true. Interest in the game has gone down.
