It's going to be a mud wrestle.... So much crap they'll be indistinguishable! Never felt as uninspired by a game against the bitters as I feel right now.

I'll miss at least a half because I'll be playing golf. That wouldn't even have happened in October.

Rojo honks and Adnan has done nothing to justify a start. Plus Depay up top wtf have you been smoking?
Okay, let's just carry on doing what we are its working right?
Depay hasn't scored while he's played upfront, no wait he's scored and assisted when he has. Martial has been playing well on the wing so why change it. Januzaj is much more of an attacking threat than Jesse has ever been on the wing, so again let's play his there for a CHANGE. Rojo honks, wtf does that even mean, he's bigger, stronger and defensively better than Blind, play a fecking CB at CB. What have I been smoking? Common sense.

    Rojo is brainless and rash.

I haven't watched the last 3 games. Won't be watching this one too.

Where is the guy simulating matches in Fifa before the real game?
 Thought I was the only one who did this. I play rather than simulate games and my record has been eerily accurate as well. I've had 1-0 win v Liverpool, 1-1 with Chelsea, 2-1 v Arsenal, 1-0 with Watford. Unfortunately haven't played v city. But 1-0 to us.

Just don't start Rashford. I rather have Memphis as the striker

You know the state of our club is shite when most of us predict a midfield of a 34 year-old Carrick and fecking Fellaini. Not to mention us relying on an 18 year old and 20 year old in their debut seasons for our attacking intent.

    Article concerning Herrera's match fitness:

    http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...all-news/man-utd-injury-news-herrera-11063576

    I don't understand this bit:

Manager Louis van Gaal revealed after watching his team exit the Europa League that the 26-year-old trained as normal on Wednesday morning ahead of the game.

But asked if Herrera would be ready to return at the Etihad Stadium, the Dutchman replied: “I don’t know. Wednesday he trained with me and he was not injured.”
    Does he/they mean Friday?

If so, I expect Herrera to start.

EDIT: (okay, maybe not start - but at least play some part)

Anyway, I'm going for this line up:

    De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger
    Mata
    Lingard - Rashford - Martial
It's harsh, but I think Varela will be left out. I haven't been impressed with him anyway in the last few games (although I think that's partly his teammates' fault - he tends to get isolated/exposed on that right wing - surely a youngster needs closer support)

A fresh midfield duo will serve us well. Schweinsteiger in particular looked great when he came on against West Ham.

And I have faith in that front three, interchanging and causing problems for City's weakened defence. Rashford and Lingard in particular will understand what this derby means more than anyone - massive game for them.

In case you haven't noticed, I am weirdly optimistic about today. Think we can do it. Don't ask why.

    0-1. Rashford.

We'll win this and the next one, talk about top 4 etc etc. Then we'll throw it away against Villa and Palace.

Neither look particularly threatening. We have no viable player to play on the right bizarrely.

    Ok, one last plea.
Please please please show us something, anything, some fight, some spirit!
It's the last time I'm saying it this season, my advice to the players would be sit and listen to LVGs pre match tactical team talk and then go out and forget everything he said and play like your footballing careers depend on it.

We should come out of the blocks in exactly the same manner as we did against Liverpool, as if we need to score 3. An open game would suit us as they have no Kompany and if we put pressure on that defence there should be goals. Also WE are the ones behind and need to win.

Having said this I believe we will come out and attempt to control possession and lose 1-0.

    This would be sound advice.
The problem is that if LVG sees a player not sticking with the philosophy, he will be benched for the next game.

Our first team players have been back for 4 games and as I previously predicted, poor performances & no wins.
We only won those 4 games a few weeks back, because we were using youngsters in our attack, who did not know the LVG philosophy.

If we want to win, I'd play DDG, Blind, Smalling, Bastian, Mata, Martial.
The other 5 players, I'd pick from the U21s team, who don't know much about the LVG philosophy.
These guys will play with attack and directness, understanding that they want to score a goal (as opposed to just hold possession, stand still, take no risks, etc).

And as for those who are talking about top 4 - please be realistic. We'll most likely finish in 6th or 7th. We are not a 4th place team.

If we lose, look on the bright side. City will more than likely get 4th instead of the scousers.

With Kompany and potentially Otamendi out, surely we have to at least give them a game?

It's going to be a terrible match. City are as shit as us at this point.

I think it'll be our usual away performance where we create nothing, are weak at the back and lose. Augero always scores against us.

We'll see Fellaini in the middle again
Don't get these kind of comments. Fellaini is pretty average yes. He's also limited as feck.
The funny thing is. He is still one of our better CM atm and did play very well against them.

He's one of our better CM? He can't tackle, can't run properly, lacks first touch and positional awareness, don't know which Fellaini in the CM you've been watching but it aint this one playing for United.

He's good when deployed further up the pitch where he can create chaos by being walking tree who chests ball pretty well, but playing him in the middle is playing with player less on the pitch since he just joggs around doing nothing (except elbowing people).

I don't even give a feck anymore, and probably neither do the players. LVG needs to go before anything will get better.
