PL D FA Premier League

Manchester United 1:1 Leicester City

Post-match discussion

To set the record straight - I am absolutely not thrilled with the result or over the moon. It is going to grate on me till next season starts - it is going to piss me off to no end because we had a team in front of us that was there for the taking but, we showed no desire to go win it. I am beyond frustrated at this point.

Rojo was an abomination of a footballer and the manager has started him 2 games in a row - his foul and him losing his marker for the goal not o mention the countless other moments in the game.

Rashford was invisible during the game and neither the leaders on the field (captain and Carrcik) plus the manager did anything to help get him involved.

I think Rooney brings a lot to the team but, should have been one of the first to come off because he was really poor and he was losing the plot all game and a stronger ref would have given him a yellow earlier and probably would have got sent off eventually but, our illustrious manager sat on his arse writing in his clipboard.

LC couldn't lose the title today but, our hopes for a top 4 could have and did take a irreparable blow today because we didn't have the guts to put it on the line to go win the game and because of that I am beside myself with the result.

Obviously in frustration on my part because I am desperate for LVG to now be gone and if this result is the one that sees him get the boot, then I will cheer the result to no end. Guess I am not as great a supporter as you - oh well.

Once we lose top 4 we've got 0% chance of playing in the CL, an 100% chance of negative impacts such as reduced income and possibly missing out on the best players. Unfortunately even missing out on top 4 isn't a 100% guarantee that Van Gaal will get sacked. You cheering us down the table for shitty reasons.

People are talking as if Leicester were battling relegation with talks of 'we should have hammered them'. We were decent imo. Not amazing but not bad either

I blame the fans. In fact let's attack them instead of...well...having a pop at the manager and players.

I blame myself, in fairness. I've been unfocused this season, barely awake - could have no doubt made more of an effort.

Absolutely thrilled with the result. Over the moon because no top 4 for us. No desire from that useless tripe of a manager who said we needed to win our games to get top 4.

Hope he has Rojo carry his bags back to Portugal.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Same problems we've had all season, can't break done 2 banks of 4 at all.

Our game plan of giving the ball to Rojo and asking him to float in a pointless cross isn't working.

We need to make sure the wide men keep the width in that scenario and get running at players, we just struggle so badly otherwise

Problem is that Rojo cannot beat a man nor whip in crosses. That's why we were so much better with Shaw.

Are you a Utd fan?

LVG saying post-match that we played one of our best matches this season today.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Am not, I am though ashamed of our performance and our manager in a game like today. Have to say I do feel a bit ashamed when I keep getting reminded that days like today will be the norm from United teams at least while the current manager is at the helm.

Why, you happily state that you wanted the club to miss out on top 4. How do you propose they do this while playing well and winning?!

Horribly annoying second half. This team is great when the score is 0-0.

Anyways, that's top four done, and if there was any sliver of hope for LVG, its been completely smashed.

Very poor team management today. Mix in a shit referee and that's a annoying day of sports television.

Spot on. I totally agree - infuriating.

Good first half, absolutely awful second... Can someone please explain to me what our gameplan was meant to be in the last 45?

Our inability to defend set prices competently is staggering
We won't know until the end of the third season apparently.

If you're thrilled with the result and over the moon we aren't getting top 4, I'm surprised you're not delighted by the performance too.

Yeah you're pretty shit but to each his own.

They can cheer themselves up tonight with a wank underneath the Leicester team poster taped on their ceiling
Right fecking on! Screw them and their Leicester love in!

At least we did not give them the title at old trafford as the media would have been unbelievable if it happened.

Why, you happily state that you wanted the club to miss out on top 4. How do you propose they do this while playing well and winning?!

Am not happily stating it actually. I did not want to see the club to miss out on top 4, not one single bit but, my first reaction post game was was if this is the game that finally sees LVG go, then it was my bit of silver lining in the result - which I overstated due to the frustration of what the result meant - that we actually are going to miss out on top 4 because of that turd that occupies the manager position.

Al I have to say is I have no time or respect for fans like you

Can't stand that attitude
100% agree, it's pathetic.

I wouldn't even use the word 'fan'. 'Hangers on' or ' parasitic leeches' seems more appropriate.

Our struggles the last few years have really shown up a lot of our fans.

On the game, really disappointing. Actually the last few years Our end of season games have had this weird feeling of sleepwalking through it. Takes some getting used to. Great opening, we looked really good but after their goal and the second half it was like we'd lost all energy

Said it would be a 1-1 today so in that respect not surprised by the result. I just don't understand how van Gaal can derive any satisfaction from this shit of a team??

Say what you like about his football results, he treats the British sports media with almost the complete contempt they deserve. He's still got a couple of games this season to wipe dogshit off his shoe on to one of them though.
You would think they would be on our side. A good old fashioned English elbow to the neck by Fellaini instead of the pansie continental hair pulling by Huth.

I can't really understand what's happened during the break. We've been more or less fine in the first half and turned into utter shite in the second. What the feck was he doing to them in the locker? Calling them all cnuts, pulling their hair in sex or showing them Twigginater's posts?

Leicester didn't play well b/c they lacked that outlet option in Vardy, who troubled us last time we played them. They also sat back and clearly played not to lose because they would win any war of attrition against the Spurs at this point and can afford to draw. We played well first 20 minute then reverted to type the rest of the game and we could not break down the Foxes who sat really deep. We had an average performance at best. It's unbelievable you are still crediting LVG. No we do not expect to win every game by 5 goals but do expect us to be comfortably in top 4 instead of wondering if LVG will still be here even though top 4 looks pretty much like a pipe dream at this point.
read again. Credit LVG for performances against top teams. Not with league place

First 20 minutes were fantastic and I thought we might win by more than 2 goals. Then, IMO, are midfield misplaced some passes and our confidence started slipping while LC's was on the rise. It's a simplistic way to look at it. Rooney and Fellaini are just not going to give sick passing and confidence working out of the back.
